I created this piece to honor and celebrate young black mothers whom are doubted, neglected, “too young”, shunned. Thank you for being the light that you are. Thank you for nurturing and loving on our future. Excited to share that I just wrapped up illustrating my second chidrens book, ‘Jewels from our Ancestors: A Collection of African Proverbs’ for @theenglishschoolhouse! Here are a few of my favorite ✨A fight between grasshoppers is a joy to the crow ✨ Eat when the food is ready, speak when the time is right ✨ One who causes others misfortune also teaches them wisdom ✨ The axe forgets, the tree remembers ♦️ @tamarapizzoli reached out to me while I was in school but i declined because i was overwhelmed with school but I am so glad that she reached out to me again to see if I was ready and it was perfect timing! Can’t wait to see this book in physical form. It has a special place in my heart ❤️
