@pscentral event 43: childhood favourites ↳ The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
It was the White Witch. She's the one who makes it always winter, always cold.

you guys don't know how lucky you are that i am busy right now because i could SO get obsessed with two 1970s french movies that no one knows about except myself. I could be giffing them through. Making meta posts. Give them the TBONTB (1942) and Papy Fait De La Résistance treatment. drown y'all's dashes. But i have stuff to do.

The opening credits of Le Grand Blond Avec une Chaussure Noire (1972), executed by Gérard Majax, a professional stage magician.

James Bond wishes he had what Le Grand Blond avec une Chaussure Noire has. Surtout le Retour du Grand Blond en fait, le premier est moins bon, ou plutôt ils ont réussi à faire une suite encore meilleure.
i have no source on that except tvtropes but honestly normalest reaction ever i am glad all the french actors to ever french act were well adjusted individuals
can we take a second to appreciate that this synopsis does not, at any point, let the veil slip on the fact that this is a whacky comedy
also that's like factually incorrect on multiple counts (André Bourdelle gets himself killed, ok, technically i guess you can write that even if it was a freak accident. Epris de ses aises that doesn't mean anything that's literally a string of words that don't mean anything. The family move to the cellar not because Spontz wants the whole house to himself but in protest despite Spontz' best efforts to get them back over the ground. Also Michel Taupin never was a fellow resistant to André Bourdelle he joins the resistance three years after André's death and perhaps it would be more relevant to either name him as the fiancé of the family's eldest daughter instead?? or to mention that among the people in the basement there's also a guy dressed like Arsène Lupin who calls himself Super Resistant???????????)

I always get jumpscared by one of these guys in Mel Brooks' cinematography when i type mel brooks on a streaming site, and let me tell you, it's not the producers that jumps up to me
(the movies are the french titles for Robin Hood: Men in Tights, The Producers, Elephant Man and Dracula: Dead and Loving It)
