Admitting when you don’t know, are wrong, or aren’t well enough informed about something is the sexiest thing you could do for yourself and your community
If you are a mentally ill person who struggles with violent urges, impulse control, disassociation, anger control, psychosis, or other stigmatized and demonized conditions you are so fucking important and you matter and your needs matter and you deserve better
It’s easy to find new things to be annoyed or pissed off about. It’s harder and more valuable to balance that negativity with finding new things to be intrigued with and grateful for.
i hope you heal from the things no one ever apologized for

we all need to collectively unlearn the idea that certain achievements (i.e. graduating college, getting a job, moving out, etc) only count if they’re achieved by a certain age or within a “normal” time frame.
going through life at your own pace does NOT equate laziness or failure.
accomplishments don’t have an expiration date.
I hate when people say slavery was 400 years ago. Slavery started 400 years ago. Slavery ended less than 200 years ago. Much less.
And I’m just talking about America, Brazilian slavery lasted about 20 to 30 years longer.
As in we have colored pictures of former slaves.
As in we have radio audio recordings of former slaves.
As in you could type” former slaves” into YouTube and find about 12 authentic, different interview videos.
As in the oldest person in America, who by the way is a black woman named Jeralean Talley who just died at age 116 would have been the daughter of former slaves if they hadn’t been born in the North.
Olivia De Havilland died just this year, 2020. Her Gone with the Wind co-star Hattie McDaniel died at a very young age, but being the youngest of 13 siblings, had she survived to 2020, some of her siblings and her parents were born into slavery.
We have broken audio recordings of Frederick Douglass’ voice for god’s sake.
Harriet Tubman died only 20 years before the full-fledged color picture existed. Meaning that adding color by professionals onto black-and-white photographs was already an established art.
Here, have a color picture of Harriet Tubman.
Educate yourself.

(i.e. perfectly legal slavery)
New Orleans is one of the hardest hit cities in the United States, but I haven’t seen that point get much national mainstream media coverage. Furthermore, the racial disparities in access to medical care and healthcare outcomes in general in Louisiana are staggering, and this crisis has made that clearer than ever. This is truly atrocious
