Something I havenāt really seen mentioned but I think is important is the specific way exile is a commentary on miscommunication in relationships. Here you have this couple arguing half the song about one not giving the other signs that they were unhappy: she claims she gave him so many signs so many times, he claims she gave him none.
Well the point is, āsignsā arenāt how you communicate! Even as theyāre continuing to argue and talk over each other after theyāve broken up, they havenāt realized that āgiving signsā isnāt effective communication. You shouldnāt rely on someone picking up on your signs to know how you feel, you should tell be direct and tell them. You shouldnāt look for signs to gauge off of, you should ask them. People arenāt mind readers. So theyāre both wrong.
The irony of the whole song is that these two people still havenāt learned that even now as they bicker. Itās ironic because it feels like it took them breaking up to finally have an actual conversation.
i agree completely i just wanted to see if you think she improved on the skating skills, artistryc musicality and other pcs component scores as well kept her amazing spins because i feel like once alysa gets the jumps and keeps on improving she could be as complete as alena.
hi anon!! okay honestly i donāt really see a huge improvement, maybe thatās just me but also sheās 14 so i donāt really expect her to have incredible interpretation etc. i do think she has potential though, her triples are solid and have really nice flow, and i hope she does improve in time (also itās the first competition of the season so itās hard to judge).Ā
i love her spins too!! honestly, iām happy that sheās focusing on her components, i donāt know if she can be as complete as aliona, they strike me as different skaters but yeah maybe!! i love aliona so much though, like i hope all juniors grow to be as complete as her!!

opinions on d/w of team usa
i havenāt watched them in so long tbh, but i just never had an emotional reaction to their skating (and this isnāt hate, only v/m and a handful of skaters have done it), so i donāt have much emotional attachment to them.Ā i kind of never really got into their skating? not saying itās bad or whatever andĀ i knew they existed, i just watched them like every other team whenever i watched competitions when i was young, so i donāt actually remember a lot about them.
retired d/w though, honestly iām so glad charlie is commentating, ice dance stans have struggled through enough commentary from people who clearly donāt really watch ice dance, so iām thankful for charlie and tanith. i heard meryl is doing great things in detroit, but i really just donāt keep up with them that often. also iām glad that they are using their platform to end anti-maskers, mad respect, i hope they have a great day. now whoās gonna ask about sochi!
how are you feeling about alysaās new programs that are to he unveiled on tuesday?
hi anon are you talking about the ISP points challenge? if you are, then i watched it this morning!! honestly i donāt really remember that much from it, the SP we saw from japan open i think? she came in fourth if i recall correctly, i donāt really know how to feel at this point tbh. i mean i didnāt expect her to come out with quads or a triple axel or anything, but iām kind of worried. i think sheās trying (hopefully)Ā to change her technique which is difficult but is natural whenever youāre young and you grow, it happens to everyone.Ā
i wish her all the best though, she is a total sweetheart and honestly she has such a pure vibe ⨠that is so infectious. also if youāre looking for something more constructive, iām so sorry butĀ honestly iām not the person, bc 1. i canāt find it in me to be mean to juniors and 2. iām not a fs expert, i just happen to watch figure skating and enjoy it for the most part!!!
āNathan is like a damn sponge soaking up all the talent in the world holy shit.š Also, heās so good looking, cLEARLY GOD HAS FAVOURITES!ā

yes i did!!!! thank you to everyone who yelled at me on twitter yāall are the real ones š«š¤ i watched it 5 times already and the more i watch it the better it gets?? i just notice more things and i hope they put in more transitions as the program grows, but maybe thatās just me. daniil gleikhengauz, this is absolutely your fault i am blaming you for this. iāve literally been watching so much of his choreo i canāt believe i think that programs are now empty, someone plz help me find a cure.
going through old gifs, back when i didnāt know smart sharpen was a thingĀ (x)
thereās just something special about canadian nationals (x)
Ok so I may FINALLY have recovered from Worlds. Seriously, being there in person made it 10 times as stressful lol. Iāve got a couple of clips from the Free dance morning practice that I wonāt put on my YouTube account because I stupidly filmed them on my phone and the quality is really lacking. I blame my proximity to TS for scrambling my brain. ;-)

alenle: Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir at the 2017 #figureskating world championships in #helsinki
H/D's program looked like recycled V/M to me, not sure what the fuss is all about.
you know what would be really funny is if scott choreographed for a gadbois team and no one said anything and then someone finds out through their isu profile months after we saw their program and then everyone starts tearing apart their choreography forĀ ārecycled v/mā, when no one made the comparison before.
like, some things are reminiscent of v/m, for example that team that did their the seasons curve lift and the number of teams who did their hhcc/funny face/sympathy lift. but also you guys, v/m trained at gadbois, some of their programs were choreographed by marie france and patch, and h/dās free was choreographed by the same people + scott. i think thereās an argument for both sides, and h/d have parts of their skating that are similar to v/m in a way that a team like, for example, p/c, donāt. i think scott himself is aware of the backlash if itās too v/m, but you can never win in these situations, and i think for his first time choreographing for a top ranked ice dance team besides v/m (i know he dabbled in choreo before), itās a good job, and he played to their strengths.Ā
