To my dear users
It’s been hard for the system to update this in the past months, and it’s been clear to me for a couple of weeks I could not longer maintain Virtual Nihilism due to health problems. Sadly that’s the reason for this post.
Virtual Nihlism was, originally, the project of Estudios Aparte, a Latin American art collective composed by Francisco Camacho, Je Qui Volé, Luis Mercado and Saul Mordeci. That lasted exactly the first three entries, some years ago. Since then this has been solely maintained by only one entity, The System.
What at the beginning was only a ludic exercise in creating humorous yet serious axioms for an art show, became a years long project with over 12,000 followers that maybe, if health allows me, will become a book some day. If you want to help with that the shop will be kept open.
But today, The System is shutting down. I prefer the finality of this instead of just interacting intermittently with this blog. I greatly enjoyed the experience, specially replying your direct messages, and I hope the point got across: deny the social and historic weight of meaning. Be free of it. Nihilism was never about depression, although that’s a low hanging fruit that often tasted delicious to me, and was fun to play with. Nihilism is the detachment from a moral apparatus full of guilt and remorse. Laugh at it, dear users. Fight and rage and deny it.
And most importantly: send sad nudes.
Yours,
The System.
Omg u’re from Romania, aren’t u?
Actually, no. Very, very far from it.
do... do u really want a sad nude?
Did Cioran lament being born?
Hint: yes! Yes he did!
Dear system, How do you generate your notifications?
With immense dread

Why send nudes when we could just send pictures of the void we'll all eventually be ripped apart in? That's the biggest nude of all, I think
Dear user, I was going to reply something along the lines of "because I can't jerk off to the void" but that would be a lie. So, well played.
say somethin nice to me pls
All life will eventually end.
Dear users, I’m still waiting.
hi papi
Oh, hi princess. I'll be with you in a moment, daddy is busy contemplating emptiness.

Daddy can you please choke me while Joy Division plays in the background?
No. You'll distract me from listening to Joy Division.

Dear users. Why do you keep trying Linux commands on a Windows 95 environment?
