Understanding “Contingent” in Real Estate
When a property is marked as “contingent,” it means the seller has accepted an offer, but the sale is still waiting to be completed.
The transaction is not final yet because it depends on important steps such as:
Mortgage loan approval
Home inspection results
Property appraisal value
If everything goes well, the deal will move forward. If not, it may be canceled.
👉 In simple words: Contingent means the house is under contract, but not officially sold yet.
