Today's chapter was originally conceptualized for the Rhythm prompt from @only-you-sango-week, but it was unfortunately delayed by some personal life priorities. So I'm very excited to finally be able to share this with you all now!
Summary:
It had started like any other night. He hung out at the bar, waiting patiently for her shift to end. They drank, they chatted, they laughed. Shot after shot turning into lingering touches. Drunken laughter turning into sensuous banter.
Maybe his hand fell a little higher on her leg than they had before. Maybe she’d had one too many cherry wines. Whatever it was, it changed their whole dynamic the moment he leaned in.
An otherwise totally innocuous evening capped by his lips crashing into hers. His arms wrapping oh so firmly around her waist as her fingers laced through that luscious, silky black hair. Drawing one another closer together until every inch of her skin burned with want from his proximity.

Happiest of birthday's to one of my dearest friends, @violetasteria <3 This was supposed to be out for mirsan week, but life happens, and I didn't finish the chapter in time. However, I decided to get the damn thing done today to post in time for a person who has been there for me when things have gotten hard and always brightens my day. Thanks for always cheering me on and being my hype-woman. I'm so glad fandom brought us together. I hope you have a great birthday!

She thinks he’s going to let it go as his eyes flicker to the side for a moment before resuming their gaze upon her eyes. He loses his battle, lips tilting up in amusement. “I would love to talk about what you kept asking for last night.”
Sango’s cheeks flame, fire fluttering in her stomach as her head turns, like she can escape his heated stare. What did I say? What did I say! “I…I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She gulps in the cool air, daring to look back into his eyes.
All traces of amusement are gone. “You asked me to kiss you.”
She licks her lips. “What?”
“You asked me to kiss you.” He tilts his head, eyes crinkling. “Does the offer still stand?”
The morning sun hung low on the horizon, painting the training field in hues of gold and amber. A light breeze stirred the air, carrying the faint scent of dew and grass. Sango and Miroku stood at opposite ends of the clearing, poised for battle. What had begun as a simple sparring session to hone their skills had evolved into something far more charged.

We were inspired by the pivotal moment in Episode 49 where Miroku buries her dead and Sango lays flowers at the gravesite.🥀Though this particular encounter may be life-changing in other ways 👀

Sango’s breath hitched, willing herself not to cry. “Of course. Miroku, I…,” she searched for the words to convey how much this meant to her, but fell short. “Thank you.” she managed, her father’s armor still clutched tightly in her grasp as Miroku continued his work. Their companions were silent beside them, either words lost or sending a silent prayer for her fallen family.
No one moved to help Miroku with his task. When he was finished, he held out his hand for her father’s armor, dark eyes searching hers as she gripped it tightly against her chest. . Her hands twitched, trying to will herself to hand the piece to Miroku but finding it just too painful to let go. Sensing her hesitation, Miroku dropped his hand, moving instead to secure the remains with care. He offered his hand to her once again once the remains were ready to be moved. She gulped down the swell of emotions weighing her down, focusing instead on the warmth of his palm as he helped her to her feet.
