Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Super Off Road is an arcade video game released in 1989 by Leland Corporation. The game was endorsed by professional off road racer Ivan Stewart. Virgin Games produced several home versions in 1990.  

Warcraft: Orcs & Humans is a real-time strategy game (RTS), developed by Blizzard Entertainment and published by Blizzard and Interplay Entertainment released on 23 November 1994. Sales were fairly high, reviewers were mostly impressed, and the game won three awards and was a finalist for three others.

Discworld is a point-and-click adventure game developed by Teeny Weeny Games and Perfect 10 Productions in mid-1995. It stars Rincewind the Wizard (voiced by Eric Idle of Monty Python) and is set on Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels world. 

Discworld has been praised for its humour, voice-acting and graphics, though some criticized its gameplay and puzzles. Discworld has also been noted as being extremely challenging.

Rick Dangerous 2 is a clear example of a sequel done right. Developed by Core Design and released in 1990 on a plethora of platforms, Rick Dangerous 2 is a classic platform game with a (linear) story. The first levels can be played in any order: an ice cave, Hyde Park in London, a forest and the atomic mud mines. The fifth level will become available after completing the first four.

Jazz Jackrabbit is a series of video games featuring the eponymous character of Jazz Jackrabbit, a green anthropomorphic hare, who fights with his turtle nemesis, Devan Shell, in a science fiction parody of the fable of The Tortoise and the Hare.

The development of the first game was originally based on an idea that Ed Boon and John Tobias had of making a video game starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, but as that idea fell through, a fantasy-themed fighting game titled Mortal Kombat was created instead.

Along with Capcom's Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat has become one of the most successful fighting franchises in the history of video games.

Shaq Fu is a 2D fighting game released on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and Super Nintendo game platforms on October 28, 1994. It was ported to the Amiga, Game Gear and Game Boy platforms in 1995. The game was published by Electronic Arts and developed by the now-defunct Delphine Software International. It features former professional basketball player Shaquille O'Neal (also known as Shaq) as a playable character.

It is considered one of the worst video games of all time.

A sequel, Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn, is in development.

In 1992, Civilization won the Origins Award for Best Military or Strategy Computer Game of 1991.

In November 1996, Computer Gaming World's Anniversary Edition, Civilization was chosen as number one best game of all time.

Civilization was also ranked at fourth place on IGN's 2000 list of the top PC games of all time. In 2007, it was named one of the 16 most influential games in history at a German technology and games trade show Telespiele.

Made at the height of the "interactive movie" boom in the computer game industry, Phantasmagoria is notable for being one of the first games to use a live actor (Victoria Morsell) as an on-screen avatar.

Altered Beast is a 1988 beat 'em up arcade game developed and manufactured by Sega. The game is set in Ancient Greece, and follows a centurion who is resurrected by Zeus to rescue his daughter Athena, and to do so becomes able to turn into beasts such as the werewolf with the use of power-ups.

Alien Breed is the first in the Alien Breed series of science fiction shooter computer games played with a top-down view, for one or two players. It was released in 1991 by Team17 for the Commodore Amiga and later in 1993 by MicroLeague for MS-DOS.

It spawned various sequels, including Steam's Alien Breed Impact in 2010

Panzer General is a computer wargame published by Strategic Simulations in 1994 and set in World War II.

This is the original (rare) DOS version of one of the best wargames ever!

Disney's Aladdin was based in the motion picture of the same name and was released in 1992.

The game was awarded Best Genesis Game of 1993 by Electronic Gaming Monthly. They also awarded it Best Animation. Mega placed the game at #12 in their Top Mega Drive Games of All Time. The SNES version sold over 1.75 million units worldwide. Need I say more?

King's Quest V: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder! is a 1990 adventure game released by Sierra. Released in November 1990, it featured a significant improvement in graphics (achieved through the introduction of VGA into the series). It was also the first King's Quest installment to replace the typing user interface with a point-and-click user interface.  

It won Computer Gaming World's 1991 Adventure Game of the Year award. It was later released as a "talkie" CD-ROM, meaning the characters have voices, done by members of the Sierra staff. The music was MIDI based and written by Mark Seibert and Ken Allen.

SimCity 2000 (SC2K) is a simulation/city building video game and the second installment in the SimCity series. SimCity 2000 was first released by Maxis in 1993. In 1995, SimCity 2000 won "Best Military or Strategy Computer Game" Origins Award.

The Legend of Kyrandia is a fantasy point-and-click adventure game trilogy with comedy elements, created by Westwood Studios, and released for DOS, Amiga, FM Towns and Apple Macintosh. It was based in a fantasy setting called Fables & Fiends, which has not been used beyond the trilogy.

I know the first game is considered a better game and an alltime classic, but I liked Zanthia a little bit more...

The Dig is a graphical adventure game developed by LucasArts and released in 1995, and a game based on an idea for an Amazing Stories episode by Steven Spielberg. It was the 11th game to use the SCUMM game engine, and is famous for its connection to Spielberg and notorious for its prolonged production that had the game bordering on vaporware.

My favourite Adventure game of all time and guess what! I just Bought the Book! I could talk for hours about it. It is the game that changed me as a kid. The game that changed the way i view the Sci-Fi genre forever.
