One of my favorite hidden details about the Country Bear Jamboree, is that all of the bears actually have official backstories given by the Imagineers. Most likely written by show writers Al Bertino and Marc Davis, these mini bios were published around the time of the opening of the attraction at Walt Disney World.

Saw this set of gifs on Reddit, earlier. Had to share. Jim Carrey will always be one of the best.
Things that were hard to accept 1. Your expectations are just that. Your expectations. People are not obligated to live up to them or abide by them. Even if they are in certain cases obligated to do so, there is no guarantee that they will. So donât base your plans on that. And donât base your life on that. 2. You can walk away. But so can they. You can be hurt and you can be mad. But they will still walk away. They have that option. They can exercise that choice. People can get toxic for you. Believe it or not, so can you. 3. People have bullied you. And teased you. And judged you. But the person judging you constantly and the most harshly is you yourself. 4. They donât respect you because you donât respect yourself. 5. Not letting go is only keeping you sad and frustrated and stuck. They are unaffected. They are living their life wonderfully. They are free. 6. Taking care of yourself takes effort. Itâs not just good feel quotes and pretty aesthetics. Itâs work. A lot of work. Itâs doing things that take time and sometimes itâs doing things you donât want to do. 7. Itâs gone. The past. You can regret as much as you like. But youâre only wasting more time. 8. Sometimes you are going to use the word love even though you donât 100% want to. Itâs because like is too little and there is no word in between. Itâs because we use the same word for fries and for people. Itâs because love means so many different things to every individual. Itâs because you do love them. In one of those several meanings. 9. Sometimes you have to suck it up. Itâs okay. Not every situation is meant for you to show your âtrue courageâ or real feelings.

âDO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT TOOK ME TO AQUIRE THOSEâ
One thing I think is useful to conceptualize when thinking about the severity of depression is figuring out what counts as a âtaskâ to your brain
for example, healthy people outlining the tasks they need to do that day might be something likeÂ
- class - work - homework
if a healthy person is having a low energy day, maybe it becomesÂ
- make breakfast - go to class - class - go to work - work - come home from work - work on an essay - do 2 readingsÂ
a depressed person, on a high energy day will probably see that same day asÂ
- make breakfast - eat breakfast - take meds - shower - get dressed - walk to bus - take bus ⌠etc
a depressed person, on a low energy day will see that same day as
- wake up - get out of bed - walk to bathroom - use bathroom - stand back up - walk to kitchen - open fridge - take out juice - set on counter - go to cabinet - reach up arm - take down glass - unscrew lid of juice carton - pour juice - drink the juice - finish the juice âŚetc
the sort of chronic exhaustion manifests in how each âtaskâ takes a certain amount of energy and when you have depression, what begins to take that amount of energy- and thus, cognitively count as a âtaskâ- are smaller and smaller subdivisions of what other people consider tasks.Â
And the more âtasksâ you do, the less energy you have, and the smaller the subdivisions must be to take equivalent amounts of energy. And the longer that âto doâ list of tasks is, the more exhausting and overwhelming and hopeless it feels, which creates a feedback loop of dysfunction.
So say our depressed person on a low energy day gets all the way to finishing their glass of juice. Theyâve actually gotten through a lot of tasks! Theyâve tried really hard.Â
But to a healthy person, even on a low energy day, that probably looks like not having done anything- not having gotten through any tasks. And when our depressed person is surrounded by healthy people, they will likely internalize that they havenât done anything, and further that they canât complete any tasks no matter how hard they try. And that feeds worthlessness and suicidal ideationÂ
That, I think, is why itâs so important to encourage your depressed and chronically low-energy friends when they accomplish tasks, even if theyâre operating at a level of subdivision that you donât recognize. It is an accomplishment to get water and actually drink it for some folks. It is an accomplishment to get to class or to work.Â
And acknowledging how hard someone is trying and how much energy theyâre putting towards accomplishing those tasks can make a huge difference in whether they feel worthless and hopeless or whether they feel like itâs worth it to keep doing what they can.

When you are high as fuck in public
And kid, youâve got to love yourself. Youâve got wake up at four in the morning, brew black coffee, and stare at the birds drowning in the darkness of the dawn. Youâve got to sit next to the man at the train station whoâs reading your favorite book and start a conversation. Youâve got to come home after a bad day and burn your skin from a shower. Then youâve got to wash all your sheets until they smell of lemon detergent you bought for four dollars at the local grocery store. Youâve got to stop taking everything so goddam personally. You are not the moon kissing the black sky. Youâve got to compliment someones crooked brows at an art fair and tell them that their eyes remind you of green swimming pools in mid July. Youâve got to stop letting yourself get upset about things that wonât matter in two years. Sleep in on Saturday mornings and wake yourself up early on Sunday. Youâve got to stop worrying about what youâre going to tell her when she finds out. Youâve got to stop over thinking why he stopped caring about you over six months ago. Youâve got to stop asking everyone for their opinions. Fuck it. Love yourself, kiddo. Youâve got to love yourself.

A little video we all should take a moment to watch and think about.Â
Instead of thinking about what divides us we should think about what we have in commonâŚ
Iâve reblogged this on every account I have.
This is simplistic and intended to tug on heartstrings and all that shit but guys I really needed to see something about people not being dicks so if you needed that too please watch this.
Thanks for this, Denmark.
i think maybe we could all use a little simple heartstring-tugging right about now. <3

NOTHING ABOUT THIS STORY IS HUMANE. FUCK ICE AND FUCK HARSH IMMIGRATION POLICIES. NO HUMAN IS ILLEGAL
This isnât the first time ICE has detained people in public places they are supposed to feel safe in.Â
ICE arrested and raided a few men right across the street from their CHURCHÂ
A 26 year old woman with a brain tumor was arrested at the hospital and was taken to a detention center immediately. She collapsed as soon as she got there.
A man was arrested by ICE after dropping his daughter off from school
A 22 year old woman of 2 children got arrested at her own home despite her legal status. She was put in jail and they plan on deporting her.Â
An immigrant teen was arrested right before his graduation.Â
These immigrants victims have one thing in commonâ theyâre immigrants of color. You donât see ICE doing any of this racist bullshit towards white immigrants. Keep in mind all of these people have clean records. ICE agents see black/brown skin and automatically assume theyâre a threat. Itâs sad how some immigrants arenât allowed to live their normal lives because they fear high authority scumbags like this. Anyone who defends this shit has no sense of humanity. None.Â
That⌠IâŚ
FuckingâŚ
There.is no saving America
Boost this shit. Boost it right now. Because this is not okay under any circumstances.
It really does get worst tho. Iâve made posts about this in the past but people never really wonder where these immigrants go once ICE âdetainsâ them. Well, they go to these horrific detention centers, some even worse than prisons depending on the area. Depending on the detention center, detained immigrants can be deprived of food, clean water, sanitary products, and medical attention. There have also bee number cases of physical and sexual abuse from the officers. There have actually been more than 33,000 complaints regarding sexual abuse in these detention centers and only 570 have been investigated.Â
So it gets a lot worse after they get arrested, and keep in mind a lot of these people have clean record. According to ICE, trying to start a better life in America is a crime. âLand of the freeâ my ass. Â
