“Testing what, specifically?”

Vince groans loudly, can’t bother to explain it. “magical substances that can alter mind, mostly personality.”

“Quit?” Thais asked in disbelief. “Oh non ce n’est pas une bonne idée! You need to stay Sir Vince!” A sigh of relief escaped her lips after hearing his last statement. Setting the tray of cookies on his desk, she crossed her arms and said, “Maybe you just need a break for a day or two. Think things through, before you make a big decision like that. I may be a werewolf, but you’re really passionate and excellent at what you do! It would be such a waste to see you go and throw everything you’ve worked for away.” 

“But consider this-- I don’t give a shit” He drags his feet to the desk and finds some paper. He takes a pen to write down a letter of resignation-- which has only two big words: i quit, all lowercase. “Stay and do what? Stare at plants and make some weirdass potions?” He retorts, tilting his head to the side. “I have a problem, Thais, and it’s called work addiction. I’m a bloody workaholic. And I’m calling it a quit.”

“Oh, well, um, isn’t everyone, though?” He cleared his throat quickly. “I mean, I-I mean, it’s nothing some coffee can’t fix, right?”

“Yeah, that’s it. That’s what coffee is. A fix. Temporary solution. I’m taking more permanent measure-- sleeping all day.”

“No, you’re busy waking up and helping me. Tape your eyes open if you have to. And…what is that smell?”

“Ugh, what’s up with you people and not letting me sleep?” He sits up begrudgingly. If he gives her what she asks maybe she’ll go away. “Probably one of the reagents. I was testing something.” He felt bizarre this morning, after breakfast, so he was going to test his blood-- then he couldn’t care less.

“Fuck you” he retorted with a biting tone. Vince’s reply annoyed the hell out of him so he just went ahead to grab the man by the shoulders and force him to sit up “There’s something really wrong going, you lazy asshole! You’re a fucking witch, Vince. You could help fix this shit if you got up from your sorry ass and did something”.

“Sorry, sweetheart, but I’m unfuckable. Bottoming is too much of work. Maybe tomorrow.” He answers with his eyes closed. He whines when Gerard forces him up, but doesn’t even struggle. “You mean how everyone is acting just the way they never would? Yeaaahhh, that’s probably a potion. Relax, it's gonna wear off. Just ride it out.” He has noticed the symptoms of others, and himself, sort of. But he can’t care at the moment and he definitely has no energy to make antidote or something. “Gerard, I would really like to help you, but I really don’t wanna.” He says with an utmost seriousness he can conjure up... which is none.

“Riiiight…” The werewolf’s voice trailed off as she gave Vince an odd look and wondered if her cookies were causing him to talk this way. “Are the cookies good?” she asked, just to make sure. “Really? But you’re a professor, you’re supposed to be prepared to teach and all the work you’ve been doing—you’re going to leave it to waste?” 

“Eh. I was hungry. I can stomach it.” He brushes off the crumbs from his mouth. “Eh. Maybe I’ll just quit my job. Go travelling the world.” He has some savings over the year-- he barely spends any of his salary other than miscellaneous purchases he makes. “Wait, no. Travelling sounds like a lot of work.” 

“Right, yes, of course…” Isaac started to back out but paused as he looked at the professor. “Sir, are you feeling alright?”

“No, I’m sleep-deprived as hell.” He answers with a yawn. He has been living off of 5 hours sleep a day. He can’t understand how he lived like htat.

Thais was just about to point out that Vince was making a mess, but by the way his office stood, she decided to just keep her mouth shut. “Really?” asked Thais in disbelief. “Last time I checked you had no time for that kind of nap. I mean you have classes and research to continue…What happened to that?” 

“Nah. Time is a capitalism propaganda made by governments to control people.” He waves nonchalantly. “I have realized that all those things are trivial and meaningless. I’m just gonna live in the moment from now on.”

Hearing what Vince says from inside, she completely ignores it and walks right in. She started to clap her hands to get him to move or react somehow. “Up, up, up! I need help, from a witch and specifically a witch good with potions.”

Vince groans at the sound of clapping. “Nooooo.” He buries his head deeper to the pillow. “You should have booked an appointment 100 days prior... I’m busy sleeping.” 

Seeing the witch get up, Thais smiled and offered him a cookie. “Enjoy! And next time I’ll just leave it out in your office and not bother you again.” Looking around the room, the were-wolf raised a brow and asked, “Uh don’t you have a hectic schedule by the way? Were you taking a power nap or something?”

He takes a huge bite of the cookie letting the crumbs fall right on the carpet. “Awesome. That’d be great.” He answers while chewing. “Eh. Schedules can go fuck themselves. I’m just gonna regular nap for 5 hours. Power nap sounds exhausting.” 

“I’m sorry!” replied Thais with an apologetic look. “I was just delivering some cookies I made! I’ll leave them here on your desk. Once again Sir Vince, I am so sorry!” 

Vince gets up immediately. “You had me at cookies.” He extends his hand out. “Yeah, you should be sorry-- but cookies will be a good way to make it up to me.”
