It's All About the Love

I fell in love with you an that may have been the best and worst thing that I have ever done. You are an amazing man. You make me feel so safe, so warm, so protected. In that moment, when I am with you, the world around could crumble to the ground and I wouldn't care at all. I didn't plan for us to happen, nor did I plan to fall in love with you, but I did. I fell in love with your eyes, the way they lit up when we would talk about something that you were passionate about. I fell in love with your smile, both the natural and the dorky fake ones you made. I fell in love with the way you breathe and the rhythm that you created when you sleep. I fell in love with the furrows that formed at the bridge of your nose when you were deep in thought. I fell in love with the way you held my hand and said that you loved me. I fell in love with our tickle fights, our silent nights just basking in each other's company. I fell in love with you. But that was the worst thing that I have done, because it makes saying goodbye so much harder. I can't imagine not seeing your smile every day, or being held by you. I can't imagine not having a sarcastic remark as an answer for a stupid question I ask. Point is I can't imagine my life without you. I'm trying to be strong and not break down at any reminder that you're leaving me, but every time I try to, I fail miserably. I could beg you to stay, but I know the answer to that would be no. I guess this is the end of our story, but it can't be true, can it? "If you love something let set it free. If it comes back, it was, and always will be yours. If it never returns, it was never yours to begin with." So here I am, letting you go, putting my faith in something I can't see, and praying that someday, someday you'll return to me.
