âthatâs a little pessimistic, donât you think?â spoken as though the man had not been the poster boy for pessimism at one point or another. a gentle sigh passed thin lips as steel hues focused on the blonde. âitâs my job as a bartender to offer a friendly ear for my patrons so, go ahead. tell me all about it.â

elizabeth keen.
â      is  that  what  youâve  done    ,    mr .   dunne   ?       hired  just  the  right  person    ,     shaped  the  truth   just  the  right  way    ,    so  that  the  odds  will  fall  in   your   favor  ?      â
âitâs too much of a clichĂŠ. a woman of your skill level should be aware of the stigma that exists against the husbands of missing women. with all respect, not all of us are murderous pieces of shit, miss. keen.âÂ
grace covington.
â itâs one of my better habits. â any semblance of offence is a facade, one swiftly shattered by a smile that even covergirl couldnât afford. thereâs no shortage of history that grace isnât exactly proud to have attached to her well-known name, but seeking out experience and maturity when she had very little of her own hasnât earned itself a place on that list. â thatâs what makes it fun! âÂ
and she leans in, shifting on her seat as she assesses stony features. time spent with nick is enjoyable, perhaps because sheâs often amused, and she canât help but wonderâŚÂ â you like to have fun, right nick? â
âbetter habits? remind me not to ask about the ones that arenât all that acceptable.â though thereâs the smallest ounce of curiosity beneath the response but it was eliminated at the inquisition. steel hues widened in surprise as stomach rose to oneâs throat, all too aware about how precarious the position was that the two were in. frame shifted some, uncomfortable with the thoughts that wandered within his mind and the implication of her words. âit depends upon your definition of fun, i suppose, grace.â
mia wallace.
â i wouldnât say itâs a bad thing. â  but it isnât a good thing either.  sheâll leave the  latter  half out of the conversation though (  itâs better off that way. ) â true facts though,  DADDIO. we all end up dead and buried and fuckinâ forgotten about. â  some earlier than others, sure ⌠but she didnât plan on dying any time soon.  she was still intent on having her fun. she was still young. â your wife sounds like a boring cunt, if you donât mind me saying that.  i know sheâs âya wife and all but fuck ! â  eyes roll dramatically, but only for effect.  â i âaint about that sophisticated life as you can probably already tell.  what âkinda places does she like then, huh ? a wine bar? the frickinâ ritz ? jeez louise. â a cheeky giggle follows â- sheâs only playing ⌠to an EXTENT.  she stands by what she says though, the woman sounds dull as hell. â well nick, itâs a pleasure to meet you.  iâm mia. âÂ
âhopefully some of us arenât forgotten about. some of us deserve a legacy of sorts, wouldnât you agree?â unlike previous encounters of the evening, there was a genuine curiosity in the question offered. at the womanâs exclamation, a question of morality arose. was it inappropriate of him to confess that he too shared her sentiment about his wife? absolutely. and thus, he favored the more ambivalent response. âyouâre forgiven this time. itâs not as bad as it sounds, really. sometimes itâs a little stale but thatâs marriage, isnât it?â an amusement expressed befell the gentleman as an eyebrow rose, mock surprise erased hilarity at the remark. âyouâre not interested in the sophisticated life? color me surprised at that. here i was thinking you were one of those malibu barbie types.â at the introduction, lips curled into the smallest of smiles. if his agreement about what his wife was had been inappropriate than his enjoyment of another femaleâs company would be equally (if not more) inappropriate. âthe pleasure is all mine, mia.â
daphne blake.
â  ⌠WHATâS THAT EVEN SUPPOSED TO MEAN ?!  â  high pitched voice comes out a little  l o u d e r than originally intended ,  yet it does not stop her from continuing .  â  nick , this has nothing to do with me loving you .  youâre my friend ,  of course i love you !!  but no ,  iâm not letting you go because in case you havenât noticed ,  i do want to help ,  but i canât even begin to if you donât tell me the truth ;  did you kill amy or not ??  â
âyou want the truth?â this is the part where everyoneâs stomach drops, the revelation of his disrespect toward the sanctity of marriage. but forgiveness would be granted eventually, of that the man was certain, many an accused husband before had been granted similar courtesies. âi did not kill my wife. i didnât even know that amy was pregnant. if i had have known? the marriage would not have gotten to the point where people believed that i might kill her.â
you know how, in court, they talk about the csi effect? like, everyone on the jury has watched so much csi that they believe science can prove anything? well, i think thereâs an evil husband effect. everyone has seen too many true-crime shows where the husband is always, always the killer, so people automatically assume the husbandâs the bad guy.

âthe truth is malleable, miss. keen. you just need to pick the right expert.â
âif this is a bad time, we can discuss it at a later time?â a gentle knock of pen against paper at his side as he paused and awaited a response. âbut itâs an urgent matter that needs to be resolved. thereâs only a few days left to prevent this bypass, miss. bates. white pine bay needs to see the value in this motel and the only way to do that is to hear your story.â

âwhat i need is the dandelion in the spring; the bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. the promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses.â a pause as the latest numbers were tossed aside, a disgruntled sigh offered despite his determination to remain politically independent. âthat it can be good again.â
STARTER CALL Â / Â Â @ghostsouth.
âshe said people try to be good but they're really sick and rotten, her most of all. and every time she tried to make the world a better place, something terrible came up inside her and pulled her back down into hell. took her deeper and deeper into the blackest nightmare. every time it got harder to go back up to the light.â
