The lady of the house was not one to usually let people wander off on their own. Not only was it too dangerous, but no one ever made it out once they stepped into their home. So, it was all rather new to her to let a young one run around in her humble mansion.
In her study room, she quietly read through her studies as her doll accompanied her on her desk, swinging her wooden legs around until they both stopped to look up at the girl. Heads tilted to one side, they both curiously stared at the younger, who had a very familiar book in her hand. One look at it & she already knew what it was. It caused her to stand from her seat, her heart pounding faster. Where did she find that? Her...book of family recipes.
It was a nostalgic sight indeed, but not entirely a welcomed one. A flood of memories flashed through her head like a hurricane, & she needed to hold on to the edge of her desk to keep herself stable.
“ Where’d you find THAT? ” the doll yelled. The girl wouldn’t have known how valuable it was to her, a collection of memories sealed behind the cover. But...at least it was in safe hands, at least it was in the hands of someone that she learned to trust. She didn’t mean harm, she didn’t mean harm. Eventually, she managed to pull herself together & stabilize her breathing, although her hand was still close to her chest. Perhaps...baking together would help. She was one to be afraid of change, but...this could be a step to confront those fears, & try to embrace it. It’d be a momentous occasion, making new memories & whatnot, & at the very least, it’d be with her.
The doll hopped off from her seat to waddle toward the child, who then pulled on her hand. “ You’re LUCKY you caught us at the right MOMENT---we were BUSY, you know? ” Now pushing her out of the room, she ushered her to where the old kitchen was.
& from behind, the woman would stare at them, before also joining in by taking her first step. It would be...a start. A start of something new, & hopefully, nice.
