I think my favorite thing about Wpnz and Puzzles is how they're still not good people despite it all, and probably never will be. It wouldn't feel right if Wpnz just up and quit being an assassin after his selfless sacrifice in WOTFI 2025. And it wouldn't make sense of Puzzles dropped all of his perfectionist, control freak, narcissistic behaviors either. I love the moral grey area they're in. Theyre not evil in the same way a villian is, because they arent chasing a goal or doing it deliberately with a desired outcome, thats just how they are.
I like that they also have a warped way of experiencing guilt or regret, and then taking responsibility. They undoubtedly felt remorse for their actions, but they clearly still didn't to handle it and deal with it the same way a "morally good" person would, and I could list a lot of examples of this.
(when Puzzles was apologizing to Meggy before his sacrifice, but like, ONLY to Meggy😭❓he still felt bad obviously, but just something I found funny. If not for the fact that it would have ruined the serious tone, I was half hoping for a little "WHAT ABOUT US THOUGH??" From the others.)

TAWOG ramble again
To build off of my last post, I'd like to try and illustrate as best as I can how I feel about the change in the way the show handles the lore / Rob in season 7.
In the original show, pre S7, the self aware nature of the show is hinted ALL throughout the seasons. The void is depicted multiple times before it's properly mentioned by name, the oddity of voice actor changes are acknowledged by the characters, and many other episodes like "the money" "the finale" and "the inquisition" all highlight the fact that the show is clearly meant to be self-referencing.
But now, to me, the void feels less like the incomprehensible and uncontrollable force that it is in season 7. For something that's supposed to be a metaphor for the show's inevitable end, it doesn't feel as inevitable. In fact, the "rewrite" episode wasn't really caused by the void at all, it was because of Shady and Rob absolutely blowing it while trying to fix the plothole they left behind using the script. It's nothing new for Shady to have reality-warping and infinitely dangerous gadgets and items lying around anyways.
And I honestly didn't understand the pressing issue that came with Gumball and Darwin seeing said plothole anyways. The void deliberately wiped their minds of itself in "The Void" anyways. I assumed the void would either collapse Elmore in on itself, or just plug up the gap it left in the schools floor like it does any other time it opens itself up to claim any "mistakes". The whole thing kind of left me with more questions than answers, and with the way theyve sort of pushed rob on the backburner, I don't think I'll get the answers soon if at all.

TAWOG ramble
I really wish Season 7 of TAWOG had been more lore-centered because all I can think about is how badly I wanted to see Rob, Gumball, and Darwin have actual serious interactions. I wanted to see Mr Small and banana barbara associated with the concept of the void again. But most of all?
I wanted to see the residents of Elmore ACTUALLY face the void head on. Banana Barbaras paintings are supposed to predict the future, not vaguely imply what COULD have happened. Hell, theres a whole episode based around how unavoidable the outcomes of these paintings are.
Maybe im misunderstanding, but I imagined season 7 would be the last straw, where all of those pent up lore implications would come crashing down, and we'd get to see everybody on the same page for the first time. EVERYBODY would be aware of the void because it was implied it was literally collapsing Elmore and swallowing up the whole town.

i find it weird that gumball and darwin just start laughing after rob's "death"
like, darwin says "what a way to go" so they clearly think that rob is dead, and they genuinely laugh about it
if you look back on The Future, the same thing happens, but they ACTUALLY kill him, then feel guilty and bring him back to life. there's even a moment where they try to laugh it off after he dies, but they literally can't
you can argue that rob was defending himself in The Future, while he seemed to be actually out for blood in Rewrite, making Rewrite's situation appear more dangerous. but... they were definitely taking the situation wayyy more seriously in Future. in Future they actually went out of their way to erase him from existence, while in Rewrite it was more just like "i'm gonna destroy rob's evil helmet and if he drops his helmet i'll politely pick it up for him"
so... why exactly don't they care about rob's life anymore if they, gumball especially, KNOW he's not really dangerous?
this might be one of the clearest examples of mischaracterization, it's crazy how similar these two scenes are, but they act much differently in one than the other, and it's not related to character development or anything (this would be gumball and darwin devolving for no reason)
Homophobic TAWOG fans don't even try to deny the LGBT rep in the show anymore, they just look at you like this.

• With Puzzles, it’s usually always on accident. You literally freeze up everytime he gently bends down to pick you up, but a few soft tender hair pats are (usually) enough to keep your heart at pay as he gently whispers he wouldn’t even think of hurting a countless source of entertainment like you
• Mr. WPNZ on the other hand? Oh, he DEFINITELY leans hard into that part of “countless entertainment.”
• He often sets you off on tiny “hide and seek around the kitchen counter” games as a way to test your skills. Little do you know though it’s mostly an excuse to watch how adorable and fearful you get as he’s ever so close to actually finding you… 👀
• Puzzles usually likes to interrupt/join in the game though to find you first, being your “dramatic hero” and just because he never really approved of WPNZ exploring your size this way 😅
• One game actually ended with BOTH of them holding you, and WPNZ just about felt his heart melt the way you shyly smiled at how carefully both boys held you….Maybe he’d be willing to share this way.
