Obviously this is just my headcanon XD but to me the YOI universe is such a loving world, it’s hard to imagine that Viktor would have uncaring parents or an unhappy childhood. Sure, there’s the missing out on Love and Life thing, but I like to think that is the circumstance of one dedicated to, and exceptionally good at, their craft.
