get content creators/influencers off the red carpet and out of interviewing people. at least the ones that don’t actually deal with media! the people who should be interviewing about movies should be actual entertainment journalists or at the very least content creators who dedicate themselves to researching and discussing movies, not whatever gossip that comes to their minds.
bruh i can't believe in 2 weeks ill be done with school forever. this is wild.

Finding this on my normal dash is like taking a stroll through the Park and suddently stumbeling upon the Codex Hammurabi just lying there.
This post has about 10% as many reblogs as there are active users.
just made the best salmon of my life thank you aldi
okay okay okay I have to speak my mind and you are so good with your analysis on fandom: I genuinely think that a lot of the loudest, meanest, most nonsensical takes (specifically about Robby, but in general) come from people who have A) never worked a job/never worked a job in either customer service or people-facing that also requires them to work with others and B) can't conceptualize that one character may be another's antagonist (like Langdon for Santos) but not the whole show's antagonist-or even the show not having an individual as the antagonist for the show at all, and instead a concept (such as the "antagonist" of the pitt being the administration, poverty, hospital policies, etc). For A, I think the biggest example is how people reacted to the scene with Robby and McKay in S2, where she left (taking a medical student with her) and took supplies with her. She essentially abandoned her on-the-clock shift to take care of someone she usually sees on a volunteer position, and in doing so, she left a patient and family she'd made a connection with, missed them dying, and someone else had to do her job for her. She even missed out on supporting Javadi through this, and Javadi might have had support through it through Robby-but it was her and McKay that were treating Roxie. And Robby is right to call her out for it-because literally any other boss would have likely fired her on the spot, or she would have had some sort of write-up for it. Yes, McKay did a good thing by helping the woman out and it was a teaching lesson for Ogilvie, but it isn't without it's consequences. For B, I see this all the time in other media. (I think it's also due in part to the literacy crisis and people being spoon-fed media of all kinds). It's like object permanence: when people can't see the antagonist or the enemy of a media, they project it onto someone. Shows like The Pitt or even Abbot Elementary (as a comedy example) do have individuals that take point for the antagonist of the season or the episode, but the major roadblock will always be the current administration, poverty itself, lack of access to medicine/education, being unsupported by admin and boards and school groups but told they're heroes and given pastries as a "thank you" rather than support.
ALL OF THIS. i honestly don't have much to add I think all of this is great. the "antagonist" in the pitt is and always will be the American healthcare system. and like yeah. at the end of the day robby is still the boss and he has to do boss things. I get mckay is a fan fave (she's one of my favorites too) but he was not wrong to get onto her here lmao. anyways yes all of this

An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: The Pitt (TV) Rating: Not Rated Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Jack Abbot/Michael "Robby" Robinavitch Characters: Michael "Robby" Robinavitch, Dana Evans, Baran Al-Hashimi, Jesse Van Horn, Perlah (The Pitt), Samira Mohan, Joy Kwon, James Ogilvie, Cassie McKay, Trinity Santos, Yolanda Garcia, John Shen (The Pitt), Jack Abbot (The Pitt), Dennis Whitaker, Victoria Javadi Additional Tags: Humor, Fluff, Head Injury, Concussions, Broken nose, Robby gets a little concussed and entertains people, Disinhibition, Whump, Universe where everyone is regularly getting therapy and is better for it, sorry langdon and mel had a day off, Established Relationship, poor ogilvie but someone had to be the sacrifice, Jewish Character, Jewish Michael "Robby" Robinavitch Series: Part 1 of Happy Pitt Fics Summary:
It's a Tuesday in July and Robby has, in the past six hours, been punched in the face, had his nose set twice (long story), been informed that his college fish is now a matter of departmental record, ranked the nursing staff in order of quality (twice, differently, in front of each other), and received food he cannot eat for reasons that were clearly documented.
The food thing was Ogilvie. The fish thing was nobody's fault. The nose thing is complicated. (It also, somehow, involves Ogilvie).
Jesse has a bead kit. Dana has opinions. Jack is flying from Miami and has been texting Shen for updates since his arrival at the Atlanta airport, which Shen is finding both useful and, frankly, a little much.
The department is running fine without him. This is either very reassuring or extremely annoying, depending on the hour.
Gerald Fishman could not be reached for comment.
some of you rather get recreationally outraged just to seem like some kind of activist than actually examine why you think the way you do and it's kinda annoying
THE PITT 2.01 | “7:00 A.M.”
I've been rewatching S1 and in the episode with Amy, she asks Whittaker if he has a best friend and he says he has 3 older brothers (who he then adds tormented him) and says something along the line of "not really" and it moves on.
Only to later get Santos, who offers him a place to live...and by S2, they're clearly besties and care deeply for each other. He found his best friend <3
victoria javadi is one of if not the most interesting and incredible subversion of the genius archetype i have ever seen.
first off, she's a woman and poc, which you don't often see in "genius" characters in film or tv.
second, while it is clearly shown how intelligent she is with solving cases (ex. black widow bite case in s1),she is not perfect at everything at first. she faints after seeing a bone setting procedure for the first time and sometimes she is not good at being subtle or nonjudgmental (a skill often needed in healthcare.) but she learns and works on those skills as the series progresses.
third of all,she is an incredibly likeable character. this is more of a personal opinion, but i often find genius characters really unlikeable as they are often very uncaring of the characters around them, very self-centered,etc,etc... but javadi is none of those things. it is shown repeatedly in the show that she cares deeply for her patients and her co-workers. she is not some stuck up genius, she is kind and caring while also being very intelligent.
tl;dr javadi is a well written and well acted character and i can't wait to see her in emergency psychiatry in s3!

The cast and creatives of HBO’s The Pitt made an appearance at the Academy Museum last week during their Season 2 FYC event, moderated by American comedian Jon Lovett.
During the Q&A, Lovett, who didn’t seem to understand The Pitt or the actors very well, asked about specific storylines and controversial topics like A.I. Yet he didn’t seem to grasp the importance and seriousness of the series, its cast, or the topics he was presenting. Let alone, didn’t really ask the entire cast anything. The majority of the speakers were the executive team, which included Wyle (also an executive producer, director, and writer for the series). The cast and creatives were gracious with their answers, giving the audience an in-depth look inside the ins and outs of what made The Pitt one of the most popular, as well as one of the most accurate, medical dramas.

finally watched it on my lunch break today and you can pretty much pick out any moment of him speaking and use it as an example of how awful he was (particularly his joke to Patrick and his comment about Shabanna's acting accent) but I think another (more humorous one) is him fixated on the hand sanitizer. essentially this:
Mod: what's in it? it can't be real, otherwise your hands would be super dry.
Noah: it's real! it's not alcohol-based, but it's real.
Mod: you use it a lot noah, what's up with that?
Noah: *very good detailed explanation on how doctors have to use it before/after, how robby does it as a comfort thing and also includes the real-life factor that none of them can get sick and theres 200+ people so they have to stay safe from germs*
Mod: hmm. sounds like something a doctor would say. you could just use aloe (nevermind the fact you already explained its not alcohol based so one can assume your hands won't dry). you are aware you aren't a doctor?
