PERHAPS IT TAKES  one outsider to know another.  his behavior is softer than it would be against other mutants or humans in general who chose to  JUDGE  him.  to the contrary belief,  Peter is not an asshole for no damn reason.  it’s to those who deserve it.  it isn’t his fault that a lot of people ask for that kind of response.  the commentary on X-Men makes him raise a brow,  cynicism etched on the edges.  just by walking through mansion he got to see countless kinds of people who can do things he didn’t think anyone would even  THINK  of doing,  let alone have a talent for doing them.  ❛  bullshit                     i mean,  nonsense.  i didn’t mean to sound offensive.  it’s just that i think the mutants are  AWESOME.  i’d kill for some of the powers you guys have,  like that kid that can change channels with his eyes,  epitome of  LAZINESS.  he’s such a good kid too.  ❜  he comments with an amused tone.  it isn’t the smartest choice among all the powers he could have,  still,  that’s his favorite.  ❛  it sounds like those bullies deserved what they were coming to them.  ❜

his features are soft as he hugs her back. he had not known of any grandchildren, and suddenly, now, here is one. it pulls a smile to his lips. 

      ❝ i am glad i am here too. ❞

THERE’S EXCITEMENT GUSHING  from the half human’s eyes.  it’s true because it’s weird to be on Earth let alone the fact that he’s talking to a mutant.  &  to be fair,  it feels like nobody is threatening to stab anyone,  with such low expectations,  of course he’s having a good time.  Peter’s tried  FOREVER  to get the grumpy Colorado kid off his skin  &  he tried so hard that he believed his own tricks,  becoming the strips of sunshine that he is in front of the green haired lady.  ❛  you could say that.  ❜  what an underestimation for the horrors he faced  &  the brutal ways life taught itself to him while he was completely alone in the universe.  ❛  really  ?  i thought with all the X-Men around you wouldn’t think i’d be that cool,  thank you.  ❜  he doesn’t falter with that comment,  which should indicate that’s genuine.  perhaps Lorna doesn’t know him well enough to make that distinction just yet.  ❛  that sounds like a story you  PROBABLY  don’t wanna share,  am i right  ?  no pressure.  ❜

he sees the sadness in her eyes and there’s a touch of it echoed in his own and he gives a small nod. 

       ❝ they did, ❞ he agrees quietly. ❝ and there are many that did           not live that should have… but they wanted us all dead, and           so they did not win. ❞ he lifts a hand to gently touch a cheek.        ❝ that there are jewish children is proof enough of that. ❞

   That’s interesting. His eyes narrow slightly, a small frown on his brow as his gaze drops to her hands. Shaking. Even if just a little bit. Erik ventures to step closer, his fingers curling around hers in a loose grip as his gaze moves back up to meet that of his daughter.

   “You can. Stop fighting against them, your powers are a part of you. They are a gift. A gift you shouldn’t restrain.”

     She pulls her hands away quickly, head giving a shake. “Are you crazy? I could hurt you.” Lorna looks down to her own hands and, for a brief moment, cannot believe that they were so dangerous, that they could kill if it came to it.

❛  hah,  i knew it  !  ❜  Peter’s voice booms,  cacophonous for the weak hearted.  he takes a big breath afterwards,  knowing it’s time for him to reveal his tragic backstory or whatever.  ❛  i was abducted out of nowhere,  believe it or not.  ahm,  if you consider being irresistibly  CHARMING  a superpower then that’s mine.  ❜  he grins  &  lets that go rather quickly.  his alien humor doesn’t work on the majority of people down on Earth.  ❛  y’see,  i was taken by a band of ravagers and they knew how to get around.  as for the hazards of outer space,  i turned out to be  HALF  human.  my dad’s an alien asshole who i’d rather not talk about,  but i guess he’s the one i should be thanking for making it alive out there for so long.  ❜  he concludes  &  stares at the verdant strands of the lady’s hair.  they are too damn catchy.  ❛  how’d you end up at the mansion  ?  ❜

   “That is entirely for you to decide. If you don’t want me in your life, then I will leave.” He can’t force her, and he doesn’t want to. No matter what he thinks is best for her, in the end it will still be her decision - not his.

   His gaze shifts back to the broken window, a few pieces of glass having landed inside that he studies now. Erik can’t help the smirk curving his lips. “You’re powerful. Does Charles let you do, or is he restricting you?”

    “I’ll think about it.” Lorna wasn’t going to lie, she enjoyed the thought of actually having a father around, but she was still unsure. Who was to say that he wouldn’t leave her behind again for something better? Or to “protect her”?

     She actually laughs a little bit, shaking her head. “He wants me to let it out more but I keep telling him no.” The mere thought of letting her powers loose or using them frightens the woman, hands even shaking slightly. “I don’t think I could ever use them to their full ability.”

“ easy does it, i’m not that old. ”

   It is too late for him to move out of the way once he notices her hands moving suddenly, but to his own surprise Erik finds himself unharmed. Only the window has exploded, the walls are dented. Some students outside, he sees in the corner of his eye, are staring at the broken glass. But that’s it.

   “It probably was one of many bad decisions I have made over time,” Eric explains regretfully. “I know the world must seem unfair to you, but if I hadn’t left, you and your mother…the world was looking for me. And if they had found out about you, I wouldn’t have been able to protect you.” A beat. “I’m sorry.”

    She’s glad that her powers decide to reel themselves in and just break the window, something that she will- once again- have to explain to Charles. It most certainly wasn’t the worst thing that she had done to the room so perhaps he would actually be happy to see the green-haired girl.

     Eyes move from the shattered window to the man before her, “And now you’ve come back. To try and be my father.” It was more of a comment than a question, as if Lorna was considering everything that was happening. This was almost too much for her to really take in healthily- as shown from the way her powers broke the window. A deep breath is taken, “I...Maybe.”

Making sure not to make any sudden moves, he reached to examine her arms. “I have something to give you for that.” he smiled at her briefly “If that’s all that it is, it will be alright.” He knew better than anyone that injuries caused by his own powers, the scar were the proof that he was stronger now.  Weren’t they? “What exactly did you try to do? Perhaps I can help.”

She almost wants to pull her arm away form him but he moves carefully, almost treats her as though she is glass. “I-I felt my powers start to get out of control and I didn’t want to hurt anyone, so I tried to hold them in. Then they did this.” Even Lorna didn’t really understand what happened but she did know, whatever it was, that it hurt.

“ it’s not always been that way. i was young once, too. ”

   He knew from the very beginning that this wouldn’t be easy. Of course she is angry at him, she has every reason to be, and he doesn’t blame her a bit. Though he would also like to have at least some understanding from her.    Charles has told him to not take this too easy.

   His gaze drops to her fists, but he doesn’t take a step away. Even if she is powerful, as he’s been told, she is still his daughter after all.    “It is never too late to be that. I didn’t know where you were, until Charles told me now. I understand that you are angry.” He takes a step closer to her, as if circling a hurt animal. “But you have to understand that I had no choice.”

     She tried to see it from his side, to see why he had to leave her alone, but it was difficult for Lorna. Ever since she found out that the man who raised her was not her father, all she wanted was to have an actual father, her REAL father. But having it come at her like this? And to learn the truth? It was too much.

    why be inside and study when you could be outside in the gorgeous weather, living your life at high speed??? it was a fantastic time to steal borrow twinkies, energy drinks and cassette tapes. ah, nothing could stop him and his mood, not even the girl on the grass who seemed to… read a book. was she studying??? he quirked, running past her with a bunch of sweets, not noticing the trap in front of him. the sudden collision made him fall backwards, losing grip of every sweet and drink. laying on his back, legs and arm spread out like a sea star, peter looked at the other mutant with a slightly grumpy glance. “NOT cool.”

THE HALF HUMAN  cannot blame the mutant lady for her curiosity,  because the feeling’s mutual.  &  in his case,  curiosity in general is something he cannot seem to have satiated ever.  it might explain why he wants to go as far as the furthest star in the sky,  so he can go beyond it.  ❛  yes,  i spent  more than half of my life up there.  i was born in Colorado,  though.  i miss it.  ❜  there’s a pause,  eyes squinting a little.  ❛ what about you  ?  i can’t even tell what kind of vibe you’re giving off but you’re not from Jersey.  ❜  

“ I think you’d be rather surprised. There are things I am still discovering about myself. ”
