I hated her since day one because I thought she was a shallow, thin skinned coward who couldn’t read a room even if she tried

But now (at the end of the freaking series mind you) I realized that I was looking at me all along. Before I came out as trans, I was bigoted, misogynistic, and just a complete jerk until I found a wonderful group that helped me to get out of my cycle of hatred.

I hated her because she was me on screen. Being a jerk, pushing people away, burning bridges just to keep up your look I did all of that. I directed my anger towards people I wanted to be because I was jealous that they knew what they were and weren’t afraid to show it.

Then, early this year, I came out as transgender, then suddenly the world made a lot more sense, and thankfully my anger is gone along with my old self.

I told myself I didn’t relate to her only because I didn’t WANT to. I hated her so much that I never gave her character a proper chance. That’s just absolutely wonderful writing. You represented folks like me wonderfully.
