Mandalorian Drama
So out of Procrastination and some other Circumstances I began thinking about how to convey a Variety of Drama/Theater-related Terms in Mando'a. The Dictionary was, not too unexpectedly, rather unhelpful in finding exact Terms. Thus as usual when translating Stuff into Mando'a I had to get creative and had some in my Opinion really good Ideas for it that I just have to share with People. Here are what I concocted and some Explanations: Drama/Play: gehat'ik - lit. Story Comedy: nuh'la'gehat'ik - lit. funny'Story Tragedy: trikar'la'gehat'ik - lit. sad'Story so far so self-explanatory, the next few are more abstract, as they refer to structural Terms Volume (as in Part of a Series): ori'tsad - lit. Brigade Chapter/Act: akaata - lit. Battalion Scene: ol'averde - lit. Company Verse: traatika - lit. Platoon Line: traat'aliit - lit. Squad As is quite obvious for those I followed the Structuring of an Army, the inclined Reader may forgive me any Gaps or other Mistakes, as I solely went by what Words are available in Mando'a. I thought abstracting this semantic Group and applying it to something else which is likewise segmented in ever smaller Sections would be very befitting to the equally poetic as militaristic of the mandalorian Culture and its Language. It then immediately suggests itself to translate the Location, where one after another all these Partitions pass like an Army marching by, as: Stage/Theater: kyrbej - lit. Battlefield which to me is quite amusing, as this is more or less an Inversion of the Habit to call War Zones a 'Theater' (as in Pacific Theater/European Theater for WWII) in English. So much for my Musings on Theater Terminology and Mando'a, I'll be glad to hear any Thoughts about my Ideas
