The thing is that sex scenes actually are incredible ways to explore character. People are at their most vulnerable during sex! The way they have sex says a lot of very interesting things about their desires, obviously, but also their psychology, their vulnerabilities, their hopes and fears, etc. It is completely insane to me to think that sex scenes have no value other than to sexually excite the audience. And even if their only value is to sexual excite the audience - SO WHAT?? A movie is supposed to excite and entertain you! Grow up!!!
Hey. Your brain needs to de-frag. Literally it needs you to sit there and space out.
If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff.
Literally this will make you smarter. Our brains HAVE TO HAVE this zone out time to do important stuff behind the scenes. This does not happen during sleep, it's something else.
That weird pressurized feeling you get sometimes might be your brain on no defrag.
Give your brain a Daily Dose Of De-Frag.
Mutual I wanna talk to you but I don't know what to say. I really like you and I enjoy our interactions I think you'd be an awesome person to be friends with in real life. Please do not attack me with a sledgehammer.

How do I explain Plato's allegory of the cave to my cat?
gatoβs allegory of the fishtank
fandoms are still so transparently male-centric. I'm tired of hearing about people's """babygirls""" and the pathetic wet little guys they're obsessed with. have you ever spent a single second thinking about a female character's interiority
you see so many posts like this, and there's nothing wrong with any of them individually, but this is part of what I meant in my tags about the automatic assumption in fandoms that the characters you obsess over, the ones that are most interesting and worth psychoanalysing, are always male. maybe HER guilt complex and crying fits compel me. maybe I want to get overly attached to an amoral and pathetically sad fictional WOMAN
#there's no longer quite so much vitriol in fandoms towards female characters#but instead they're viewed as the cool competent smart emotionally mature ones. the braincell havers and mom friends (tags from @thirddoctor)
She (whoever she is and whatever she's actually like) is reinvented as this very sensible, mature, reasonable character who OF COURSE we all respect and admire and etc etc blah... but as fandom keeps pointing out (see above) those are not the type of character fans generally go for, we prefer the broken hot messes (even if they, too, aren't actually like that orginally). Fandom has at last found a neat way to sidestep any accusations of not liking the women (because OBVIOUSLY we love her! she has the brain cell!) while also making sure they are collectively seen as the character type that - purely coincidentally - don't tend to get all that much fannish attention.
NEW EDITION β βIF IT ISNβT LOVEβ (1988)
New Edition formed in 1978 and managed to catch the eye of a producer in 1982 during a local Hollywood talent night show, The label Streetwise Records helped them produce their debut hit album βCandy Girlβ which featured multiple hits that went number one on both American and UK music charts, this success only grew with each release and today New Edition is credited with being the blueprint for the modern boy band.
The curtains were blue because everything in the room was carefully colour coordinated, reinforcing the characterβs stylish and controlled characterisation. The curtains were blue because everything in the room was a different colour, reinforcing the characterβs eclectic and globe-trotting personality. The curtains were blue because the character is elsewhere established to hate the colour blue, subtextually implying that their deceased spouse was responsible for that decoration choice.
The curtains were blue because throughout their filmography the director consistently uses cool tones to mark moments of distance between characters. The curtains were blue to tie the events in that room into the broader oceanic motif of this particular novel. The curtains were blue because the assonance evoked a contrast with the following stanza of the poem.
Even the curtains looked expensive: floor to ceiling velvet drapes, in a flawless royal blue. She tucked the saucer up on the windowsill and tied back faded blue curtains with a loop of string. The narrow blinds were the same navy blue as the pinstripe suit of the man who served eviction notice that sent them to this office.
The curtains were blue because the authorβs childhood home had blue curtains, which they discussed in their letters related to their feelings of comfort in that place. The curtains were blue because the authorβs childhood home had blue curtains, which they discussed in their letters related to their feelings of grief in that place.
The curtains were blue as an allusion to the contemporary joke about literary criticism, an extension of the authorβs autocritical approach that will be further discussed in section seven.
The curtains were red, as a pun on;
The curtains were read.

venom dripping from their fangs
how it feels to stop tossing and turning and get up to piss
there's something so deeply dystopian to me how tech companies don't understand that a forced convenience is not a convenience at all. i'm sure autocorrect is helpful for many, but a function that forcibly changes my actual written words and punctuation is taking away my language. photo filters can be nice but i need to choose using them myself or else i have lost the ability to take the picture i want. i don't want a machine to draw or write for me. taking away the option for me to do things manually feels like violence!!!! all this talk of endless opportunity, why are you RESTRICTING me
Disengaging or opting out of these layers of forced AI is time consuming & frustrating. Everytime there's a system update Big Tech sneaks another layer in forcing the user to track down where - in the system - to toggle it off.
(My phone autocorrected three word incorrectly in this post.)

and then there would have passed a pleasant slash fanfiction, had the authors misogyny not been immediately unveiled
in our rush for βhe would not fucking say thatβ how we forget the all too common: She Is Not Fucking Like That
good morning, the likes on this post now outnumber the hit count of the fanfiction on which this was based and with your help we can make that true of the reblogs amen
