   Luxio shrugged, “I feel sorry for the human race too if their lives were in my hands because I’m not so sure that I would try very hard to save everyone.” He looked up at the games and then glanced back at her, “Alright- you’re on. Pick a game.”

She chuckled. “True.” She raised an eyebrow at his approval of her bet. “Okay,” she said, glancing over her options. They all seemed improbable to win, as she was sure was by design. Rory Smith was smarter (and now richer) than he let on. “Come on, muscles,” she said with a laugh, “go win that one.” She pointed. The game couldn’t be simpler in concept, but she knew it was harder than it looked. 

   Luxio put his hands up as if he was about to get shot for real but his smile didn’t leave his face. “Whatever you do, please don’t shoot. How am I supposed to save the human race if you do?” He laughed, “That may be so but maybe that makes it even more fun.”

“I’m glad to be an alien if the human race is in your hands,” she teased before pulling the plastic trigger and hitting him in the chest with a red beam of light. She giggled as she mocked the sound effect: “Pew pew.” Once she had collected herself from her fit of giggles she wagered, “Bet you a galleon you can’t win a single one.” 

    “You’re such a cheater though.” Luxio said with a grin at his friend, “I did the best I could.” That was a lie and he knew she would be aware of that. “Debating on going and winning one of those fake knives at the booths to complete my set up.”

“Hey!” She playfully shouted, pointing her plastic ‘space gun’ at him in protest. “I am a lot of things, Luxio, but a cheater has never been one of them.”  She grinned and nodded her head at his idea. “It’s a solid plan except the games are totally rigged.” 

   “Hey, dork.” He said as he walked past to sit next to her. Luxio offered her some of the popcorn he was munching on. “I figured I’d find you here. What are you doing? Homework?”

Had anyone else called her a dork it would’ve meant full on war. Thank Merlin it was only Lux. “Hey loser,” she replied, happily accepting her favorite snack.

Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel today we’re gonna talk about life being a bitch. 

HI FRIENDS sorry I’ve been gone I literally miss you all a lot. One bad thing after another has just been happening to me but the good news is I’m about to go on a five day vacation to new york city thank u jesus. 

I’m going to attempt to get some replies done today while I have some free time but please dont hate me if I don’t get around to most/all of them I WANT YOU ALL TO STILL LOVE MY BABIES 

Guy furrowed his brow. “That’s a little extreme, isn’t it?” He had to physically fight back a smile, worrying that if she caught even a glimpse of it, she’d gut him from navel to nuts. “You’re just as beautiful a a brunette than as a bluenette,” he teased. He shifted so as to bump his shoulder against hers. “Unless you’ve got some juicy secrets you’re hiding?”

“I don’t think so,” she said when wondered if he quarantine idea was over the top. When he complimented and nudged her, she was ready to die. And when he wondered aloud whether she had secrets and she had to answer, “I do,” it was all over. She turned on her heels and walked briskly away. No goodbye. No looking back. 

Guy simply laughed. It was nice to not be under the affects of Veritaserum. Everyone was so cranky because of it. Given that, though, he probably shouldn’t have been laughing at one of the said cranky people. He couldn’t help but reach out and tuck her hair behind her ears. “Your hair turned brown, love.”

She looked down, praying he was lying. But, sure enough, her long locks were a deep brown. She squeaked in embarrassment. Blue. Blue. God damn it, Vienna. Blue! “Ugh!” she verbally protested when a task that usually required no thought at all was failing her. She wanted to complain ‘This is the worst day of my life!’ but, being under the truth serum, she could not. “I need to leave before this gets any worse. Barricade myself in the common room until the effects wear off.”

“You have secrets?” It’s like he just couldn’t help himself. He thought the worst he would hear was that Vienna secretly found him charming, which, really, wasn’t a secret. He had always felt that she didn’t completely hate him. How could she? “If I don’t ask any more question, will you relax a little?” 

“Yes,” she hissed simply in reply to his first question. At his second, she admitted, “Probably not,” but she lowered her finger out of his face regardless. She was still on edge, but maybe he was a better dude than she had thought. Maybe he genuinely wasn’t going to ask her anything. Maybe she was just overreacting. “I would kill Peeves if he wasn’t already dead.” As her mind raced with too many thoughts, seemingly overloading itself, Vienna’s hair changed from blue to brown without her having meant to. 

If there was one person Guy would have loved to run into on this particular day, it certainly would’ve been Vienna. It would probably be the only time he’d get a true word out of her. Or maybe his big head just made him think her words weren’t true. Who knew? Maybe he was about to. His smug look grew. “Oh? Really? And why is that, sweet Vienna?”

The words came out of her mouth before she could stop them. “Because I don’t want you asking about my secrets.” Her face instantly became red. She ground her teeth down together, hard. She pointed a finger at him. “You get away from me right now. And don’t call me “sweet Vienna”.”
