MOBILE NAVIGATION Every year young pokemon trainers travel from region as far and wide to visit Pallet town. There, in Kanto, lives an eclectic Pokemon researcher named Professor Oak. Traditionally, Oak is known for his generous gift of starter pokemon to new trainers. He has also been known to give out Pokemon such as Bulbasuar, Squirtle, and Charizard - as well as the occastional Pikachu or Eevee - to these travelers. This year, heās decided to do things a bit differently. Rather than aiding just those from the Kanto region alone, he has decided to extend an invitation to all new trainers who recently have received their Trainerās License to visit Pallet Town and receive a new Pokemon in addition to their starter. Provided that these new trainers take a Pokedex along on their journey, helping to further his research.

I am Brock, leader of the Pewter Gym and master of rock-type Pokemon. It has come to my attention that relatively few of you have challenged me, instead opting to travel onto Cerulean City without defeating my gym. I think perhaps you might need to train your Pokemon a bit harder in order to take on my unmovable Pokemon. Therefore, I am offering you an opportunity to train and earn a strong new team member at the same time.
It has come to my attention that a group of trainers have taken to Nugget Bridge just north of Cerulean. Until recently, it has not been a problem but word has reached me that a criminal has taken to hiding behind this strong group of trainers and he has stolen an actual nugget from a nearby bank. Your challenge is to beat this group of five trainers and this petty criminal and return the nugget to Bill who lives in the lighthouse just north of Nugget Bridge on Route 25. Anyone who successfully completes this challenge will earn a desirable Pokemon from me and another more precious gift as well which will be revealed upon your completion.Ā
The only catch is that this challenge is timed. I canāt expect this criminal to keep hanging out at Nugget Bridge forever, eventually he will take off with his loot. So you must defeat him or attempt to by Friday night. Good luck trainers.

Welcome back to the rolepaly, XC! Your application for the role of original character Robin Nolan has been accepted! Please consult the new trainer checklist to get started. Welcome to the world of Pokemon!
Born right smack in the upper middle-class, Robinās parents were a pair of mildly successful investment bankers. She never really saw them around the house very much, considering the nature of their jobs and she got quite used, early on, to expensive birthday gifts and disappointing voicemails. They had a nice big house in Celadon City that always felt emptier than it ought to be. Left to the care of easily distracted college kids hoping to make a quick buck and occasionally the company of her introverted cousin, Robin learnt to keep herself entertained by just ā¦ zoning out. It turns out that time passed really fast if she went on imaginary adventures in imaginary worlds with imaginary Pokemon. Hell, after a while, she even stopped watching television. This got her into quite a bit of trouble in school, when she was always unable to answer the teacherās surprise questions. Her report slips constantly had something along the lines of āexhibits potential in her studies but lack of effort leas to her falling shortā.
Fortunately, for Robin, her parents never pressured her or showed any inclination to want her to join the finance industry. Instead, they constantly made jokes (whenever they were around) that she shouldnāt follow in their footsteps if they wanted to spend time with their children. Robin shrugged it off, never really considering it a loss or anything - she never knew their companionship, after all. Two holidays a year to exotic places, expensive birthday gifts, whatever she wanted, and good food? She was happy enough.
Her whole marijuana hobby started off when she was dragged to a party by her school friends who decided that she needed to be more social outside of class. Very quickly, she decided that loud music, sweaty bodies, and alcohol was not her thing, so she looked around for somewhere quiet. What she stumbled upon was a soundproof room somewhere in the house, filled with smoke. She met the friendliest, most welcoming people she had ever seen, and they instantly offered her a bong. For a girl who loved to zone out and chill, it was love at first breath.
Her parents started becoming more successful towards her Senior year in high school, which only cemented Robinās laziness further - she supposed that she could live off them forever, and have a trust fund or something she could use for the rest of her life. But it was also this time when her parents semi-retired, and started being around the house more. This not only meant that she had to be a lot more discreet with her smoking (switching to brownies and the like), but also having to tolerate being peppered with questions about university.
Only after a few months of pestering from her parents, Robin applied to the first university brochure she picked out from the pile - which happened to be Kanto University of Pokemon. Surprisingly enough, her two weeks worth of cramming for finals exam (PANIC!) granted her good enough grades to be admitted to the rather prestigious, if not expensive school.
Thank goodness she had someone real chill for a roommate, though, because sheād probably have been kicked out within the first few months there - either because she was not handing up her work, or because she had been reported for being in possession of drugs. She earned Robinās undying loyalty simply by sharing a pot brownie, once, and they just laid there and stared at the ceiling ā¦ while a high Robin rattled off about some philosophical nonsense that made no sense to either of them by the time they recovered.
After much deliberation, she took Sports Science on as a Major, with a Minor in Pokemon Training. During her years at college, Robin realised that her skills lay not in Pokemon Battling but in analysis and tactics. She helped out in the Training Team as some sort of coach, helping the Trainers watch match replays and etcetera so as to work out strategies and even drawing up training schedules and nutritional guidelines for their Pokemon.
Upon her graduation, Robin set out to make her own name in the Pokemon world, understanding that to achieve her dream of being a professional Pokemon Trainer-Coach, sheād have to get herself a few badges first to establish some sort of legitimacy.
POKEMON
Have you been exposed to Pokemon previously?: Iāve played the games since Yellow. Iāve been there to cry when Ash turned to stone.
What Eevee evolution would your character prefer to have?: I donāt know, but I feel like Robin doesnāt prefer a single Eevolution. She sees a Pokemon that has so many evolutionary paths as something ā¦ special, above the rest. Thereās a reason why it should be able to change under so many different conditions, and Robin doesnāt presume to try and think she knows better than the Pokemon. Sheād love to keep a plain Eevee and cuddle it daily until it decides to evolve, wherever, whenever, to whatever.
What legendary Pokemon does your character most desire?: Mewtwo. Maybe not desire to capture and own, but to have as a partner, as a companion. Robin approaches training scientifically, with a methodical rationality, and it seems only fitting for someone like him to come together with Robin. I donāt know if Robin actually wants to own a Legendary Pokemon - she reveres them in a way that she thinks itās too arrogant of her to try and own one. Sheās satisfied with an occasional encounter.

As you know Victory Road was closed a few months ago due to unexpected construction in Cerulean City. Iām happy to announce that it is now reopened for travel. However, due to the conditions of the roads beyond Cerulean, it will no longer be able to support as many trainers. Any hopeful masters who would like to return are welcome, but new trainers will only be accepted on a case by case basis. However, if you are interested in returning to Victory Road just shoot us some airmail and weāll be happy to reinstate your trainerās license.

So we are once again open for business! However, due to lack of time on the adminās part I am severely restricting the nixing of the group. At this point Victory Road should not exceed sixteen players. Anyone who would like to pick up their old characters is welcome, but I am also opening original character applications later this week. I should warn you all before you apply for them, I am extremely strict about both bios and appropriate faceclaims so it may turn out to be a giant headache on your part.
We will be picking up where we left off with the players currently in Cerulean City. However, the date will reflect the current month and day because having to deal with date changes is too hectic. Also, I have not forgotten the last prompt and if anyone would like to respond to it that hasnāt, I will gladly distribute prize Pokemon later this week. Hi guys, Iām sorry for the radio silence on my end the past week or so. Iāve been sorting out some stuff in my personal life and my head just hasnāt been in the mindset of roleplaying. And with the new update rolling out and making Tumblr roleplaying even more difficult yet again, it really didnāt help things. Iāve decided for the time being to close Victory Road and take a break from roleplaying in general to focus on some issues in my personal life.
I appreciate all of you who joined or even looked at this roleplay so much and Iām so sorry to have to do this so early into the game. Hopefully it will be back and revamped in the next few months, even if it ends up being somewhere beyond Tumblr. You are all amazing and Iāve been lucky to get to know some of you over the past few weeks.
