forgive me for being the ruiner of joy but everytime I look at the cities of western europe (especially london and paris) I am always thinking of how all of it was built using the resources extracted from their colonies in asia and africa

I'm always very adamant about referring to aotearoa as part of polynesia. because it is!!!

I feel like the harder that fact is to ignore, the harder it is to see aotearoa as some kind of "england: the sequel" bullshit. the endless farmland where native forest should be. the overwhelmingly pākehā/white population. the constant erasure of māori history and knowledge and values and language. this isn't taking place in "new zealand". it's taking place in aotearoa. it's happening in polynesia.

actually fucking disgusting that glasses cost any money like if you actually think about it for more than a few seconds it is so unconscionably inhumane. this goes for things like insulin and mobility aids and hearing aids too ofc but fuck man, fucking glasses? the thing you need to fucking see? its genuinely sickening and inhumanly evil that those cost ANYTHING.

It's actually gross to think about how all of these things can't be funded but then somehow there's always funds for the useless police and military and to bail out rich corporations because of their dumb economic decisions. Funding a genocide but can't be arsed to make a more accessible world for everybody.

It's a firmly held belief of mine, and I say this as a Muslim, that we should strive to eradicate religion from every facet of public life and prevent it from institutionalising or forming a civil society in any meaningful way. Religious leaders, whether imams, priests, bhikkhus, or rabbis, should be completely banned from platforming their position to comment on public or political matters or swaying opinion in any direction. Religious belief is a purely personal matter and should not impede human affairs here on the mortal plane.
