My Prague Adventure

Today was our last day in Prague. Tomorrow we travel back to Belgium. Today we had to present our final presentation to the boss of C9, this had gone very well and so we received many compliments. After work, Fane & I went to the famous island on the Moldau. To end the day, we all went to eat something in town. It was 3 weeks to never forget. I had a great time but most of all I learnt many things. I also gained a huge amount of experience. I am grateful for the unique opportunity I was given.

Our internship in Prague is coming to an end. In the blog, I am going to show you some more of what we did last weekend and this week. The Ice Hockey World Cup is currently underway and this happens to be organised in Prague. We went to a pub on Saturday and watched the game between Canada and Finland live on TV. That's well worth a look. Sunday we went boating on the Vltava in the afternoon and then went further into the city to explore it some more. On Monday, Fane & I had a day off. We then took the tram to different places to visit things. Tuesday was back to work. We had received the results of the survey, so we started processing them. On Wednesday, we then started working on the Powerpoint we had to present to the teachers today. This was an exercise because we have to do this for the boss of C9 tomorrow. Our colleague Nico had told us that there is a very nice park next to our company. We went here after work. We also visited the Jan Žižka z Trocnova statue. It was very big. After this, we went home and had something to eat at a local restaurant.

It is now the penultimate working day of Week 2. How it has already flown by. On Monday, we had to make calls to several customers together with our Belgian colleague Nico. Then we had to work on big assignment from Sarah, our English colleague. We had to look at car garage reviews and process them in Excel. On Tuesday, we continued working on this assignment. On Wednesday, we got our personal evaluation and it was very positive. In the evening, I went to a Slavia Prague football match with Fane. Slavia won 3-0. It was a very unique experience.

Today is the last day of Week 1. We worked every day this week apart from Thursday because we got time off then, as it was Ascension Day. On Monday, we rode the electric scooter home from work so we could explore the city some more. Tuesday we watched Champions league after work and Wednesday just the same. Thursday we then slept a bit longer and then went into town to visit some monuments. On Friday, we were allowed to stop working as early as 3pm. This was great fun and especially as the weather was very nice. On Friday evening, we then all went into town for a drink. Saturday we went to the ‘Eiffel Tower’ and visited some souvenir shops. Today is a rest day to recharge all the batteries for the new working week. At our internship, we learn a lot of new things. We phoned people, had meetings, … But most of all, we learn what it's really like on the job market.

As part of our internship we have created a mobility survey, of course we need as many respondents as possible so we would like to kindly ask you to fill it out.

Our first weekend and our first working day is already over. Saturday we had a good flight. When we got here, we installed ourselves and went straight into town because there was a marathon going on. In the evening, we had dinner at a local restaurant which was very tasty. Yesterday, we went to visit Prague Castle. Here we also learned a lot about Prague's history. We mostly walked a lot to explore the city. The first working day went very smoothly because we were given fun tasks. In the afternoon, we went for lunch with colleagues and then continued working. This evening, we will explore the city a bit more and then go to bed early to work tomorrow.
