Rabid merely looked above them, looked back at Qamar, then took a few steps back, hoping he wouldn’t have noticed the one right above them before explaining them. “Ya see, a LONG time ago, there was this thing called Christmas. It was a day where a man dressed in red flew around the world giving people gifts. They had a lot of decorations like this, and it was supposed to be a happy time. Those plants are mistletoe and when two people stand under them… they uh… make out.” He took a few more steps back. “So try not to let Phone catch you under one…”

Qamar nodded, either not noticing Persephone’s outburst or purposely choosing to block it out.  “Yes, I have heard of this prewar holiday.  I must have missed that part about the mistletoe.  That seems like a strange tradition, though.  Lots of opportunities for people to be preyed upon.”
