They're dragon OCs and i decided to hit them with the horse-ification beam The reason they're both alicorns, is because i decided for my AU(?) that alicorns occur by either marring the current monarch (as an "artificial" alicorn) or by assuming the title of monarch. Ponies born into the royal family are usually (but not always) unicorns. There have been recorded cases of pegasai and earth ponies being born from the direct line of royalty, but these tend to be rare occurrences, and usually happen when one of the parents is from one of the other pony races. Yeah sorry to anyone who cares, but these two are awful monarchs lmao. Also kinda disappointed we have no canon male alicorns. Maybe a hypothetical G6 could fix that?
