to my fellow pagans— you do not need to be in total control of your spiritual path. it’s allowed to be spontaneous and intuitive. if the idea of relying on a schedule is holding you back/dampening your practice then just… don’t have a schedule. nobody is mad at you. do not beat yourself up over keeping things balanced and even between the deities because they simply won’t be. these are ancient cosmic spirits and not children, so you don’t have to worry about not playing favorites. worship according to your lifestyle, needs, desires, intuition, and don’t cling too hard to one single idea of what you want your practice to look like.
l'll be real with y'all- l've been unemployed / on unemployment since August. And, like so many others, I'm losing my FoodStamps this month. I'm trying really hard to do whatever I can to provide for my family, and Temple Hyacinthus' Jewelry is all I've got going for us right now.
I know so many of us are struggling, and so I completely understand those who don't have the extra income to spend.
But if you've wanted one of our sets and been discouraged by our prices - this sale is for you!
(We're also trying to clear our current inventory to make room for our upcoming drop; hopefully dropping mid-November).
Thank you all for your continued support, it means the world to me and my family 🙏🏻
Putting this out there in case someone else learns from my mistakes as well. Bit of a rant but just know that you are not the only one in this situation.
Don’t feel guilty if you took a break from your practice/ worship. Whether that be willingly or for other reasons. But most important: no circumstance will make your break “less valid”. Hear me out on this one.
When you have a moment in your life which from the outside might not seem challenging, but it makes worship overwhelming, it’s okay to take a break. It still counts as taking care of yourself.
Telling yourself that you should have not taken a break or believing you’re a bad worshipper for not doing “everything you could” to continue your practice will just make you more guilty and more difficult to get back. “Oh but I should have done this- or I could have still made that-“ No. Whatever you’re going through, overwhelming yourself will not help. Your worship is there for comfort, it is something you can rely on but it will do the opposite if you force yourself onto it.
After a busy period I feel so guilty getting back to worship, I don’t feel as connected as I did before or feel like I wasn’t doing enough, which just turns into a vicious cycle. The more I postpone getting back to my practice the more guilty I feel.
The gods are understanding, they are not mad at you for taking a break. Say sorry if it makes you feel better (even though there is no reason for it) but just get back to it. Say a prayer, do an offering and before you know it your practice will feel as comforting as it did before.
The gods are listening whenever you need them to, if you want to ask for help after a break they will be there for you. You are not a bad worshipper for taking care of yourself.

Offering activities that you do throughout the day to the gods is a good way to show your devotion but ever stuck with the concept or not sure how to begin? I gathered some simple ways you can offer activities to the gods, for anyone who needs a bit of guidance or hasn’t figured out the best way for their practice yet.
1. Saying it out loud/ in your head
The simplest way to offer the gods anything is by saying a couple words beforehand. Say you’re making your tea/coffee and want to devote the entire process to Hestia, just mutter a few words before you pour the hot water in the cup like: ‘Hail lady Hestia’ or ‘May you grace me with your presence’. Anything to let the gods know you’re doing it for them. If you don’t want to make it up on your own, you can say a few words from the Homeric or Orphic hymns or a full prayer, whichever suits you best. However, I got some options for those who don’t feel like this method is working for them.
2. Music
Another common way of dedicating an activity is through music. You make a playlist with songs that remind you of your gods, name it “Devotional playlist for …” or something inspired by them and you’re good to go! Anytime you feel like devoting an activity, pull up the playlist and start playing the music. Taking a walk, gaming, cleaning, anything you feel like doing while listening to music. If you don’t want to/can’t name the playlist after a specific god you can just write in its description ‘for ….’ Simple and subtle. You can devote a playlist to one or multiple gods.
3. Symbols
This is also a subtle way of calling upon the gods when you feel like doing something in their honor. It includes making up a little symbol or drawing that is simple and reminds you of your gods. If you can’t call upon them out loud, just scribble the symbol while thinking of them. While studying, doing research, draw it on the paper, doing skincare, trace it with your finger while applying the product.
4. Using an object already dedicated to them
If you often dedicate a specific activity to a specific god, you could make an offering of an object that you use for it, maybe keep it on their altar and whenever you use it, the gods will know you’re doing it for them. For example, keeping your paint brush on Apollo’s altar, your favorite spoon you use to make coffee on Hestia’s and so on.
5. Make the final product an offering
This only works with only some types of activities, like crafts, painting, drawing, cooking etc. but an easy way to show the gods you were doing it for them is just making an offering. Putting the final product on their altar or just simply saying ‘This is for you’/‘I was thinking of you while doing this’ (or anything of the sorts).
Remember that each practice is unique, these may or may not be for you. I advise everyone to find methods that work best so you may find comfort in your worship (and it doesn’t feel like a chore).
My first ever offering to each god was some sort of art that I've made. It brings me joy that I can use my talent for worship and to honor the deities while doing something I enjoy.
This animation is in honor of Lady Hestia, for helping me find comfort and warmth after hardship🧡
Khaire! I hope those who see this post are doing well and staying safe.
My partner, Augustus, is currently fundraising for top-surgery and I wanted to share his GoFundMe here in case anyone was feeling generous.
Hi, my name is Augustus I’m a trans guy and I’ve been out and on testosterone for a li… Augustus Anderson needs your support for Help August
I want to make it clear that nobody is required or expected to donate!
We started the fundraiser last year but had to postpone his surgery due to us moving + not having the funds. We're now revamping our efforts in hopes that he can have top-surgery in July!
If you can't donate, we'd really appreciate you sharing the link with others in the community so we can spread the word as far as possible!
The Temple of Hyacinthus was founded, and exists, as a primarily queer space - and the vibrantly queer community that has formed over the past 14 months has been an amazing thing to witness. I'd love to see our community come together to make this happen.

The polytheist. You're probably a Hellenic polytheist if you're reading this. Maybe you're not a Hellenic polytheist, but you follow another pantheon. This is for you, too.
You're out here on the internet. You're looking for communities, you think you found one, then one day you find that you're comparing what you're doing to what everyone else is doing. Things that made you feel confident and connected are suddenly making you feel like you're not doing enough, or you're not doing it right.
Maybe you added a bunch of things to your practice because it's what you saw other people doing, and maybe you were told that's how it's done, but it's not making you feel right. What used to be profound moments, or at least peaceful ones, have turned to obligation and you feel like something is wrong with you because you're not getting the results that you expected.
Breathe.
Don't get lost in what everyone else is doing. Do your research. Find your way. Practice lots of discernment. Pace yourself. Be humble. Be ethical. Be patient. Hold yourself to your own high standards, not every random polytheist on the internet.
Everyone has a different opinion on how to do things. Look at all the options, but don't try to please everyone.
