Crooked Kind
Rick nodded slightly as she explained her story. It was impressive that she had managed to survive this long. He had to hand it to her for obviously stepping up and getting her hands dirty when it may have not come natural to her. Rick just shook his head slightly. “I didn’t even know it had happened. I got shot, on the job, before this all happened. I was in a coma.” He explained quietly as the memories of waking up in the lonely hospital came back to the forefront of his mind. “I had no idea what had happened, part of me thought I was still stuck in a dream or the coma.” He shook his head again. “I went home and no one was there and a father and son found me. They took me in and explained what had happened. After that I just made it my mission to find my wife and son.”
Viana listened to his story thoughtfully and without any interruption. "It must have been quite terrifying for you then. I mean to anybody it would be but to just go from one extreme to another." She had to admit she was quite impressed with him. "We both got lucky, good people found us. Military men took me in. Unforgettably they were slaughtered. Well not everyone is good in this world." She was thankful she had his arm to steady herself, she was hoping they could fix her up soon so she could talk to the man some more. "Could I hold your daughter? I haven't seen a baby since before.. Is that a weird question?"
