Winnie clapped her hands together in excitement. “I’m sure that the honey I brought from home, will taste different from the honey here. I’m excited to try it!” The blonde looked around at everything, eyes wide with wonder. “I didn’t like the idea of leaving the Hundred Acre Wood, but I think we could find ourselves some really fun adventures here!”

“W-well, no. I mean, it’s not a bad scratch. It’s almost not even noticeable.“ He rubbed the back of his neck, realizing how much of his foot he’d just shoved into his mouth. “It’ll probably be gone in a day or two.“

“Well, you know. Most girls go berserk when they have some sort of thing happening on their face. Thinks it makes them less pretty or something.“ Jace shrugged. He knew that not all girls were that way, but it seemed to be a thing among most of them. 

“Does the scratch make me look less pretty?”

She hummed and bounced a bit in her spot before tilting her head. “Have you been here long? How do you like it? Have you seen Goni yet?”

Now that she was on the island, she was in search of her friends. “Nessie! Where are you?!”

She turned, searching for her friend before spotting her, a grin pulling at her lips as she took off. “Winnie!!!”

“I have a sister. I know how these things typically work.“

Vanessa sighed. “Of course I’m going to worry! The first time I see you since the Hundred Acre Wood and you’re hurt already!” she exclaimed, frowning and shaking her head

“vanessa, it’s okay. stop worrying about me. it’s small" goni thought about getting other injuries that would cause more worry and furrowed his brows a little. "it’s not something serious. just a scratch. and it’s nice to see you too." 

“hey, hey. i am right here. it’s goni.” he made a weird face, knowing she already knew that his name was that. he touched her hand softly. “just know that i am not trying to hurt you, vanessa. i would never hurt you on purpose. i am only helping out.” he smiled softly. 

goni held his head up high,  his heart needed some repairing after getting onto the boat and coming all the way over here. dad would want him to settle in and feel comfortable while they were away. the boy held onto a book that meant a lot to him and once he found somewhere to sit, he opened it and there were drawings of flowers and the family. even if the one about the family was when he was just a small child. it’s his favorite. “what do you think of art?” he asked softly to the nearest person that walked by him.
