I think my trouble with shipping Terra, at least convincing myself of some endgame instead of just a fling, is that I'm still not sure what Tara wants from her life. Not just what she wants from a partner, but like. A Tara who wishes she could've been a hero is different from a Tara who wants to put the superhero/villain life behind her is different from a Tara who wants to get back at everyone who's hurt her. Who I imagine her with is constantly changing based on which of those states I imagine Tara in. Ig DC is answering that question for me now but I'm not sure I'm on board with them

frodo getting criticized for decades for not doing much / not being a hero compared to sam is fitting when you consider mental health and strength is often trivialized. frodo carried the most dangerous and insidious item in middle earth for YEARS. ancient beings (elves, gandalf, etc) were taunted and tempted by it. boromir was corrupted within weeks without even touching it. men and hobbits turned against their brethren for it. killed for it. and frodo, with a wound from a morgul knife, bore it’s weight when no one else could. had it been anyone else, middle earth would have fallen.

My friend Wesal (@deemagaza) doesn't speak English. The only way she can find her way around the English internet is by using Google Translate or ask others like me for help. It is very difficult for her.
Yet she has no choice but to do so for her daughter Farah, almost sixteen now, who is autistic and has a kidney problem that - without treatment - makes her deficient in potassium, which, if it becomes too severe, can lead to cardiac arrest.
^ Farah spends most of her days like this now, feeling uncomfortable in her body, but not understanding why.
Farah's medication has become unavailable in Gaza, which has endangered her life and means she has to be treated in the hospital, which is costly and where they are running out of resources as well. Farah's case has now been referred to the WHO to be transferred abroad. If the opportunity for evacuation arises, we must make sure the funds are available!

the thing about critical role is that it was never as good as it currently is with Brennan as a dm and Aabria and Luis and Robbie at the table. like, I loved campaign 1 & 2 don't get me wrong but this? campaign 4, a completely different world where orcs fought against their god to gain their freedom and continue to fight under a made up religion of a very rich house through the theatre, community and connections to the magic of the world? where everyone fights against houses who have all very blood supremacy views of magic and their own power as sorcerers? where wizards are something so dangerous because they prove magic can be learnt and not breed so the university & the museum, places of learning, are to be the most controlled by the rich houses™ before anyone starts asking uncomfortable questions like "wait... we can learn this too, blood doesn't make you special". And there is an entire group dedicated to fighting it and starting a rebellion. and ! brennan started this with the most classic campaign opening: you all meet at a funeral (well besides the "you all meet at the tavern" that is)
It only took 10 years, Brennan lee mulligan and people of color as the main members of the cast to get this party as woke as dnd deserves to be. holy fucking shit
