women’s history month, for women carry the weight of the sky.
do you think Jesus thought of his father,
when came the time to be crucified
and the smell of wood on the cross
was conforting before he died?
do you think the Virgin Mary
damns the aroma of apples
for once it was bitten,
she knew her son had been sentenced.
do you think history repeats itself,
when Eve gave the apple to her loved-one,
and Jesus gave the bread to his disciples,
knowing that one projected betrayal.
is it right for the Virgin to disapprove of Eve,
knowing that both lost their sons
by the hands of one action,
and by the order of God.
maybe Mary understands Eve the most
being a young woman destined by God.
would it be deemed correct to punish the one destined to bite,
when she had to live hell in Eden?
she was covered in Abel’s blood,
and the Virgin drips the blood of Christ.
here are two women, carrying the sky between their bare hands.
meanwhile they only wish to carry their babies a bit longer.
perhaps the Virgin tried searching for one to blame,
seeing her son nailed to wood.
but she cannot disapprove of Eve
creator of sin
as Eve made a descision
just like the one of the son that the Virgin created.
Jesus is Lord, a savior,
but before all, he was a son,
right?
Mary cannot project hate,
for her son made as much a descison
as the woman who drove him.
the apple was bitten
the bread was shared
and here is where the cycle repeats,
and continues to repeat.
Mary created savior
Eve created sinner
they are two women
they are two mothers
sentenced to the living damnation
of witnessing dying the ones they saw birthed.
