This picture is from a few weekends ago. We took a day trip to the beach to celebrate our half year marriage anniversary. It was a fun day and a great weekend to include flowers and gifts! I love flowers and I'm a sucker for surprises and sweet gifts! Y'all know I'm a romantic. However, this past week, Saturday-Saturday sticks out more in my mind. It has been a trying week for me in every way possible, yet he has been by my side encouraging me and behind me pushing me forward. He has prayed with me, shared my pain and frustration, and wiped my tears. In a nut shell, he loves me through the bad times, and that means so much more to me than the easy fun times. He's my best friend and my life partner. We don't always get it right but we will always try again until we do. Now, I know my aunties taught me not to share too much about my man, so don't even let the devil get you confused - he's spoken for - but I wanted to shout him out just for being who he is and who I need. I'm so blessed that God created him with me in mind. If your girlfriend or boyfriend can only handle the good days, do yourself a favor and let that go. You deserve someone who is for you during the sunshine, the cloudy days, the rain, the snow, and the hurricanes! Most importantly, you want your foundation to be God so that both of you can withstand the trials of life together. Rice has always ranked high among my favorites, but fried rice, I love it, IF done right! In Columbia, my favorite fried rice places are Miyabis, China Kitchen (forest drive), and Jins (hard scrabble). In my current city, there's a little spot called Chicago's! I always get fried rice with carrots and chicken and a side of fries with grapefruit soda! That's my jam! The owner is super nice and does all of the cooking and serving. Lately, I feel like I can eat French fries with almost any meal, weird I know. At home, purple sweet potatoes are my new favorite side, mid day snack, and late night dessert. And last but certainly not least, Annie's kitchen is my my favorite home cooked food!
