I've invested myself in this game, and the investment has paid itself off tenfold. After adventuring through Pharloom for nearly 40 hours, I am nowhere even close to finished with the game but so happy there is more to do. I just got to the part where Hornet is offered a home after helping the town rebuild.
I entered the house, and there wasn't much in it besides a dusty shelf on the wall and a lone bed. The bed, like any bench in the game, was able to be sat on. Of course I did so, and I felt my heart warm as Hornet looked around a little bit, and then rolled over to sleep in her new home. This poor adventurer has not slept this entire journey so far, only occasionally rested at a bench, but now she sleeps.
If I hadn't been playing this game, and some dude just showed me that Hornet could sleep in a bed, I'd be like yeah okay? There are a lot of games where the player can choose to sleep. Super Mario Galaxy lets you sleep just about anywhere you'd like, but I don't feel like Mario needed a nap at any of those times. Mario is so excited to just keep doing things, napping is just something he'll do to pass the time.
Hornet is a fighter, she has been very driven to do what she believes she has to do, as she says repeatedly throughout the game. She tells every bug she talks to that she's just on a mission to defeat whatever led to her kidnapping. She justifies every action of comfort that she takes as something that is aiding her ability to fight. But now, in this empty house where nobody can see her, she sleeps.
She take a nap.
