Vertex Art

Started this blog on September 28, 2012, and over the last 6 years it’s changed my life in ways I’d never imagined. I’ve met so many different people, made many different friends. Tumblr is the only place where I’ve actually felt like part of a community online and I’ve had more interaction with people here than every other art site combined. I hope that I can somewhat keep this community going after December 17.

Hi Pillowfolks.

The moment you have been waiting for is almost here! Pillowfort’s invitation system, which gives users the ability to join Pillowfort for free, will be launching this Monday (11/25).  We will make an announcement when the system is live.

What is the invitation system?

All Pillowfort users will have the ability to generate free registration codes to give out to friends. The introduction of the invitation system allows our community to grow at a steady pace and to help us test our server capacity in a controlled manner to prepare us for officially exiting beta in 2020.

How many invitations can I send?

During the initial launch of the invitation system, all users will be allowed to generate a maximum of 3 single-use invitation links per week. The number of links that can be sent out may fluctuate depending on server stability (i.e., if we encounter a drastic growth in users that causes site problems, we may decrease the number of invites that can be generated). We’ll make an announcement before any such changes are made.

…And that’s not all!

We also have another exciting announcement to share. With the introduction of the invitation system we have had inquiries from users concerned on how Pillowfort will be able to bring in funds to cover server expenses and to compensate the team working on the platform. As you may already know, Pillowfort has been entirely user funded since the beginning without any funding from investors or venture capitalist loans. This weekend we will be launching the highly requested donation system. Users will be able to make a one-time or monthly payment to Pillowfort to help keep the lights on. Any money donated to us now will be applied as a credit to your account when we release Pillowfort’s Premium Features Suite which is currently in development.
