« on the day you arrived/ I became your device/ To name and soothe » is a strong one. Reading the DM chapter in QoTD, Daniel reaches the point eventually where he resents Armand for not transforming him, being hooked on his blood but also being the only thing that can soothe him. And with all the sick and twisted love that is between those two, it sure felt at times like Daniel was Armand’s plaything. The little kid’s toy description is right on point.

I haven’t even sat down to soak in all the informations I got from the panel discussion and the trailer regarding Devil’s Minion but, what Eric says about the toy being old and dragged around and Assad’s answer is « it’s tattered, it’s broken but it’s mine » basically confirms that not only there was a relationship between them in the 70’s (so they got Luke Brandon Field hidden somewhere goooood), it definitely takes from how their relationship unfolds in QoTD (the stalking, the dragging him around, getting him hooked on his blood etc).

And if you’re crazy enough, it maybe hints at Alice/Armand being somewhat real.

This is perhaps one of the best press tour I’ve ever seen. They’re not even the main storyline of the show but have everyone’s attention.
