I'm fond of the idea of Tybalt having facial burn scars, especially if it covers almost half of his face. There is a trope in media where a character calls themself "horrid and disfigured" when they just have a simple scar on their nose or lip. It definitely feels like that's as much facial harm that the general population can handle without getting scared.
If you follow my main, you might remember this post I made a while back. Besides Consort shaping his grandson's mindset to vent his anger towards the Montys because "they definitely set the fire to kill your parents", his own image in the mirror is a constant reminder of what his rivals have (supposedly) done to his immediate family. This gives his hatred another deep and psychological layer.
In VVE, I keep Tybalt's original face structure, but I also tweak the burned side of his face. His affected eye is slightly squinted, and the affected corner of his mouth is pulled into a neutral position (and his non affected other mouth corner is in a perma-downturned position). For the scar directly on his eye, Tybalt thankfully did not lose his vision in it, but he does suffer with dryness because it doesn't close completely, as well as light sensitivity. (From my research, the skin bordering on the burn scar tends to tighten and be more stiff since the scar tissue is not flexible at all. This can cause the normal, non burned skin, to be pulled in the direction of the scar.)

Hi, I am back from a hiatus. No, this project is not dead, but I got obsessed with it again. Juggling work, other games, getting into politics and religion, learning spanish, as well as planning a visit with my closest friend have definitely caused me to not focus on this. I'm currently caught between two important points of development: lot building and writing lore.
Thankfully, it's easy for me to write what is, ultimately, playable fanfiction. I need to write sim bios, household bios, storytelling slides, and taking pictures for said slides. I love Veronaville and it's always a little brainworm for me.
The harder part, and a big demotivator, is building lots. I am not a good builder, but I do think I am an okay decorator. I need to revamp every lot and add many new lots. I have my own vague vision for what the general vibe will look like, but even then, I just hate building lmao
I try to be as vanilla as possible, but there are a few CC that are just absolutely necessary, and it is like 95% build/buy CC.
Another thing is that I want to write a little prequel story that sets up all you need to know before you load into the neighborhood. This is gonna be the thing I focus least on until the project is close to ending. I'd want it to be in the style of emperor of the dark's story made in the Twine engine !

i added a child only basement to the summerdream home because im not changing the shape. i also didn't want to create barracks and make titania and oberon sleep together (mostly bc they're an on and off again couple and i want them to have sides of the 2nd floor)

Rebuilt the Summerdream home from scratch because I am NOT dealing with flooding. WIP
Since the home is centered, I have replaced the pool area with a wedding arch, but honestly it can be replaced with a bar or something else.
I think Maxis was going for a theater aesthetic for their original home, so I added an extra platform in the backyard that I want to turn into bleachers. If I cant do that, then just chairs will suffice.
Clean Purist Veronaville - Now with Infant Faces, More Genetic Variety and Fixed Astrological Signs!
Hello! As promised, I would've eventually finished my Clean Purist Veronaville Project and add more flavor to them as I did with the other neighborhoods. It's kinda sad that there's little content produced for it, and I didn't want to leave it out. As always, there's 8 versions to pick from and the extras merely restore more functions into the neighborhood that the developers left out or fix things they forgot to look at, which makes it in my opinion more fun and colorful without ruining the Eaxis canon.

What's in the Extras versions?
Genetic Baby Faces. During the beta development of the sims 2, it seems like each infant was meant to come out with a face that would've somewhat resembled from birth that of the parents. This functionality was fully fledged and seems to have been removed last-minute, because it can be re-enabled rather easily. I have babyfaced myself all playable and dead premades (sorry- ancestors and townies were too much! It's a lot of work, I'll see if I wanna do it eventually- or anyone else can pick it up from here!) so they will now have this feature again. I suggest to use FaceBlendLimits off to have more interesting babies, but keep in mind they can come out really... funny.
Heterozygous Sims. All sims you play are actually created in Body Shop, and each sim created in Body Shop and then added into the game have only homozygous genes, because they are drawn from their physical appeareances once in. The Sims 2 features the most complex DNA files of the series, and I wanted to valorize them by giving sims recessives like in-game born sims based on their family tree. Where I saw premades or relatives having genes that made no sense, I edited the recessives of ancestors accordingly. No one however has different manifesting/dominant genes, so you will still see the same characters you see everyday. There's bound to be surprises when they will have babies!
Fixed Astrological Signs. The convention for Astrological Signs used to be different in the past. There are some common but also uncommon mismatches, such as many Virgo sims being displayed as Scorpio. Basically- all astrologic signs are in an outdated format. I have updated them, and made them match the personality of the bearer. Keep in mind Attraction Calculations, if you have Nightlife, will work differently.
I’m playing Veronaville for the first time in 18 years again and having a blast! I have forgotten how fun base game sims were. Game runs so smooth: no errors, scripted events proceed as they should. Thank you for your tremendous work! What would you say the biggest differences between your (standard, no townies, no extras) and meetme’s clean Veronaville are?
Hello! Glad to know you're having fun :) As for how different our works are, I can think of some points (but the list might not be extensive):
meetme has assigned careers to some dead premades, skills, etc. I didn't.
Goneril, Bianca and Regan have jobs in the respective family business of each in meetme's. Mine don't.
Goneril's family has a lot of money, and the money of the family bin sims has been modified in meetme's template. I only gave them bin money following maxis convention, instead of assuming how much money they should or not have to allow the player to express their own assumptions.
I don't recall how meetme did broken faces, but I fixed them and linked them to the proper templates. I remember her just making genetic the broken ones (example: a face 25 is now a face 2 in every lifestage)
meetme changed the birth order of the adult generation of the Montys and Capps, in order to make Claudio and Cordelia the eldest, while I respected the vanilla family tree and merely corrected Antonio and Bianca's ages, who had them swapped with each other.
I deleted the ten million of faces that characters had hidden in their character files, meetme didn't.
I also got around some localizations to fix wrong descriptions.
All family flags that shouldn't be there are actually not there in my upload.
Memories are, I assume, pretty different in both uploads, as both me and her agree they were a total mess and there had to be some assumptions and re-ordering for them to make any sense (that was really the worst part to work on).
I used the dead ancestors recreations by carrit. I think meetme did hers herself.
Not really what you asked, but I give the possibility to pick between having or not having townies, which I think is crucial for many players.
All in all, I think meetme just takes more artistic liberty in her uploads. They're nice and I've found myself using them in different cases, but I've always been a little surprised no one made purist aka no assumptions, no personal interpretations clean hoods. When I first started the sims 2, I used her templates and ended up being confused about the actual lore of the different neighborhoods, so I wanted to make something for people that wanted to familiarize with the lore as-is and play with their own ideas, instead of others'.
Very green in color, but not in experience, is the Escalus family.
Marquess Prince Escalus rules Veronaville with a steady hand. Fair, yet also strict, he prides himself on keeping the peace between the Capps and Montys. The loss of his dear Marchioness was due to this feud and he intends to end it by all means necessary. Will his rulings be just and reasonable, or will his own bereavement cloud his judgement?
Charming, rich, and entirely well aware of both, Count Paris always gets what he wants. Except when he doesn't. Then it's everyone else's problem. Will this privileged pretty-boy learn that affection are not prizes meant to be won?
While most girls her age chase love, Countess Rosaline rejects it, even at the cost of hurting the rose of the Monty family. She prefers it this way, all quiet and observant; gathering all of the juicy drama to keep tabs and create favors. Rosaline loves being glued to a screen, but will her own inaction cause her to watch her own life pass by?
The Marchioness was very pretty but I forgot to save her Sim 😮💨 Maybe even Prince forgot her face? I love when characters do things in the name of their dead loved one, and that loved one would haaattee their actions if they could only see.
I can see Paris as a rich kid that needs a bit of sense knocked into him. I wouldn't say he's a misogynist, but he definitely does get what he wants. Except when it comes to Juliette, she's totally not into him and isn't going to be after the 5th gift of dethorned roses and designer chocolates. I'm not sure how to write him without being a creep, so maybe he's insistent in a Gaston (Beauty & The Beast) type of way?
Rosaline is canonically aromantic and asexual. Perhaps it would have been kinder to Romeo if she figured her sexuality out before dating (and suddenly breaking up with) him... ouch. I also based her personality and vibes off of Moeka from Steins;Gate.

I really like the idea of Cordelia being the golden child and having more room to persue love as compared to her younger sisters. Because Regan and Goneril definitely had arranged marriages.

One swatch, using Remix V2 Light Rose and burn scars by @/satterlly. The burns only show for men. The skin is NOT geneticized and townified. As such, I do not recommend making a Sim in CAS with this skintone have children.
If you're like me and want to use this skin on Tybalt for Veronaville, open up the neighborhood in SimPE, find him on the Sim Browser and open up his DNA. In the option that says "Skintone", put in c6dd1559-4c4a-32f3-6ca1-fca8c633d86e and it should look like the screenshot below. This should prevent his skintone from being passed on.
6. Various Full Face Makeup for Tybalt
The burn scar is by @/chocobunsims and graciously converted by @gaypleasantview. There are four versions of this. Two with his face burn scar and mask and two without the mask but with the burn scar. The differences are between eyebrows. One being more Maxis Match and one being more realistic. Recolored in Afterglow Red. The Maxis Match eyebrows are from here, but I genuinely cannot remember who made the realistic brows because I don't have the original file. :(
7. Maxis TM Punk Outfit Recolored
I teased this a while back. This outfit has a variety of political, goofy, UI, etc pins. There is also a large patch that reads Bella Ciao in simlish, and the underwear is recolored blue.
8. Maxis TF Couture Dress Recolored
The yellow and red symbols are recolored to cyan and blue. Shoes have been recolored to match the stockings to give the illusion of thigh high boots.
9. Casteru Eyeglasses V1 Recolored
Converted by @platinumaspiration. Recolored by be cyan. Child-Elder.
I while back, I made heraldry for the Capps and the Montys. It's on a store mesh for the castle set, titled above. The original textures were at 128x128 and that's a bit too low quality for me, so I bumped it up to 512x512.
The third shield is a part of the Escalus family I'm adding, but you could repurpose this to be anything else like the Summerdreams. I also uploaded the PSD so you can make your own. I highly recommend this website and it was where I made all of these.
This download is a TEXTURE DEFAULT and as such, will replace the original Maxis textures. Be sure to delete the original store item so mine can be replace it.

I got ReShade to work yayayyay The Monty family's estate was in a dire need of a revamp, so I scrapped the Maxis build and went for something new. I've always been a fan of Italian villas with cortile (central courtyards), as well as Italian architecture in general (thanks AC2.)
Villa Monty is heavily inspired by Villa Le Corti, near Florence. It's a cute Villa usually rented out for weddings. I know that Verona is in the Veneto region of Italy, however I intend on basing my Monty builds on Tuscan buildings. I don't know much about the intricacies about the architecture between the two regions, maybe there isn't much a difference, maybe there is.
I wanted the tiny balcony to be Romeo's room, but I feel like that would be an ideal master bedroom. There's also going to be a LOT more rooms. Of course for Romeo, Mercutio and VIola, but also two more rooms to properly represent it being an OLD family home. Unused bedrooms of course turned into offices or skill rooms.
The two towers at the end of Villa Le Corti will be added since I'm very fond of the design :3 Maybe one to emulate the original Maxis home? It might look lopsided though idkkkk
