have you seen ( veronica barda, she/her )? They look a lot like ( w.eronika r.osati ). The ( 32 ) year old ( freelance designer ) is so ( energetic, gregarious, outgoing ) but I heard they can also be really ( unfaithful, overly sensitive, volatile ). Can you believe they’ve been in town for ( just arrived )?! They live in the ( Town Square, Fairweather Hotel ) neighborhood and kind of remind me of ( silk and satin, impeccable hair, pearls and gemstones, pop music ). If I was asked, I’d guess that they were ( Best Dressed ) in their yearbook for the class of ( 2011 ).

Veronica couldn't complain about the lack of interest from her male friends, but it had always been Eric Sanders who had all her attention... From afar. Veronica cautiously kept the safest distance possible from her high school classmate until one day Eric forgot his homework and asked Veronica for help. Something as silly as this had changed their lives.
The two became inseparable, and it wasn't long before they started dating. Weeks turned into months, months into years. Upon hearing about Eric's plans for the future, she declared she would be his biggest fan and support him no matter what, truly believing in his talent and charisma. He got his first role, then another one; there were more premieres and contracts, nominations, and awards. His career gained momentum, the couple tied the knot, and moved into their new home in New Jersey - their life was like a dream come true, and Veronica loved showing it all off, especially her partner. Another Sanders couple had become "relationship goals" on social media. But the more time Eric spent on set, the less time he had for his wife, and the more time she spent alone, the more it changed her.
Caught red-handed, the unfaithful wife claimed that she never wanted to cheat on her husband, but she felt incredibly lonely, stuck in a golden cage where everything seemed within her reach yet so far away. She promised him that she'd never do that again, but having already gotten a taste of the lifestyle that otherwise wouldn't have been obtainable, the resolution was weak. Even though it broke her heart to hurt someone she loved, Ver couldn't stop, and it didn't help that Eric kept forgiving her despite the pain.
When the pair welcomed their daughter, Vivienne Sanders, everything finally seemed to have fallen into place and had stayed that way for over a year. The more time Eric spent being a father, sharing their parental responsibilities, the easier it was for Ver to fall into her old habits, and that was the last straw.
After the divorce, Veronica stayed in New Jersey, keeping the luxurious house and everything in it, with Eric's personal belongings and the car being the only exceptions. Even though the true reason behind their falling apart was their secret, suddenly the hidden truth wasn't enough for Ver. The dust settled, and there was no reason for her name to appear in the media, but she missed basking in the warmth of the limelight so much... Soon, she had found her way back to the headlines through little lies and concealment.

"Isn't this beautiful! It's a custom made dress by Eric Sander's ex wife, Veronica Barda. She was so kind as to send me one when I emailed her about the design. It even matches my eyes."

"Well, you've done your homework, that is appreciated." Sada did her best to keep her profile rather low, but she rubbed elbows with the wealthy and influential in Carroll simply by being so herself and she knew that it was impossible to erase her traces, so she'd curated them instead. So, she knew exactly the impression this woman had most likely been left with.
"That's quite alright, I assume most people are less familiar and comfortable with the more risqué aspect of fashion. What I'm looking for, is your take on it. You are, after all, the artist."
Veronica nodded with a smile. One thing she knew for sure was that designing something for Sada would be a challenge, and she loved those. She could already feel the creative side wake up, curiously searching for inspiration and key features she would focus on.
"Of course, this kind of freedom is always the most beneficial for both parties. Very appreciated too. Not every client is willing to take a leap of faith and trust the designer completely." Some people even thought it was a little insulting to criticize anything before the final product was there, but-... Intimidating as Sada seemed, the most important statement had been made, and that's all Veronica needed. "I would love to get to know you a little better and hear a bit about your vision, so I can start planning and sketching right away. What occasion are we talking about?"
It was weird to be back in Manchester Park as a Carroll resident. After all, eighteen years had passed since he'd run from the small town. There were a few holidays here and there Ira came home for, but for the most part, he had kept his distance.
The park really hadn't changed much over the years except for some new benches and a few new manicured flower beds. In spite of the lack of change, Ira padded along the winding path with fresh curiosity. The smell of steamy, spicy food drifted on the breeze reminding Ira the park was nestled in town. Shrieks of delight blossomed from the playground, children playing pretend with not a care in the world.
Ira smiled to himself. He felt relaxed, warm. This quiet town had a habit of softening his defenses. He took a seat on the edge of the fountain and rummaged in his back for his lunch. He pulled out (a well rounded meal)
a wrapped sandwich and an energy drink. He popped the tab of the aluminum can and took a sip.
A voice pulled his attention from his leisure meal. Glancing up, he spotted a young woman with long dark hair and flushed from exercise. She seemed to recognize him but he didn't recognize her.
Ira blinked as he tried to place her face. He pieced the context clues together. What had he done yesterday? Oh, the vending machine, right. It all fell into place. He'd run into the woman at a drink machine. The picky hunk of junk refused to swallow her crinkled dollar bill and Ira had swooped in to the rescue with a roll of quarters. Guess he'd made a lasting impression.
“Hello,” he greeted, giving her a small wave. “It appears I am the stranger from yesterday.”
“No hard feeling, I didn't recognize you either,” he admitted.
"We're even then, relief!" She chuckled. Veronica took a break from fighting the zipper in the bag to lace her shoes; putting on her hoodie was absolutely unrushed as well. She needed a break from the fight with her bag, hopefully, some fresh energy would guarantee the advantage she needed to win. "I'd say the universe wants to give me a chance to thank you for the help, but you brought your own lunch. Damn."
One, two, three... Finally, Ver closed the bag, picked it up, and walked over to the fountain. "It probably sounds silly, I know, but you really saved my day. It was one of those days when a stupid vending machine acting up is the last straw... Don't we all know this feeling too well?"
"I had heard you were in town, Ms. Barda." As well as that she was now divorced. "And I was wondering if you'd be interested in designing me an outfit." There wasn't much that she had in mind, but for a vague generalization. She'd seen many of the woman's designs, and the more sultry ones had sparked her interests.
Valentines would be a perfect time for Charles to try and win his way back into her favour, so she'd figure it would serve to motivate him if she could knock him speechless for it. Remind him just what he'd risked. Not that he had truly risked losing her over something so petty, but they liked to pretend.
Veronica was modest enough to be genuinely surprised when someone like Sada Vang asked her to design an outfit for her. Oh yes, she had done her homework before jumping on that plane to pick up her daughter and knew exactly who she was talking to. If someone was rich and influential, Veronica knew exactly who they were and it was in her best interest to rub shoulders with such people and stay relevant.
"Miss Vang, I know your taste and sense of style, so don't be surprised if I blush right now." Actually, she could tell she did blush a little, for her cheeks felt warmer. "I would love to, I'm always up for a challenge. What kind of outfit would you like me to start working on for you?"
"Bullshit," Mickey hissed into the phone, tone hostile, as he turned to face towards a tree, "we said weekends, all weekends, that is Saturday and Sunday, a full forty-eight hours, or can't you count?" He couldn't believe she was trying to pull this shit with him again. It had to be the fifth or sixth time in the last year alone, where some lame excuse was given as to why his time with the boys had to be cut short for one reason or another.
And the worst part was, he couldn't even complain to anyone official about it, either. They sorted this custody business on their own, without the courts, and Mickey had no choice but to play ball by her rules, otherwise she'd take it to court, and he would almost certainly lose all contact with them. Which, fuck that.
"No, no, that's got nothing to do with this, I had to work—" he sputtered, "Wait a second, we're— don't hang u—" Mickey cut off in anger, missing the ability to snap a phone shut or at least slam it repeatedly on the hook. "Bitch," he swore under breath, once again damning the mother of his children to hell and back for the umpteenth time, pocketing his phone.
"What?" This response came a bit sharper than intended, as Mickey's attention jerked in the direction of the woman a ways off, doing yoga in the grass. There was not a lick of recognition, he was certain he'd never seen this lady before. Which meant she probably met Maverick, confirmed when she mentioned his shades. "Yeah, sorry about that," Mickey suddenly flashed her a smile, tone much nicer, as he came closer, "been a tough day — tough week, actually — so, you'll have to excuse me, remind me what your name was again?" Where did Mav keep meeting hot chicks? It was like being gay made him some kind of beacon or magnet for them to just come out of the damn woodwork or something. Should he explain she must have met his brother? Probably. Was he going to? Nah, he'd see where it went first.
Finally! The bag zipper moved and Veronica could close it, then swung it over her shoulder with as much grace as she could muster. Effortless charm. With that magnetic smile, she clearly tried to make up for not recognizing the man earlier, even though he seemed okay with that. Actually, he looked a bit confused himself, most likely thanks to that conversation on the phone - it sounded far from friendly from what she had overheard.
"I can tell," she replied in an understanding tone. "That's okay, I came here to unwind too, maybe it's contagious." Tough days. Tough weeks. Tough months... At least the world was merciful enough to make up for that inconvenience with a handsome stranger, and now Ver's plan was to make him a not-so-stranger stranger.
"I'm Veronica; plenty of nicknames to choose from if it feels a mouthful," she chuckled.

And this is the juiciest one... A good double spotted....
"What do we have here but hard, solid, proof of what I've been saying ALL ALONG! The engagement between Ingrid Hawkins and Viscount Fitzroy Duncombe IV is a BIG OLD SHAM! Here we have a nice, beautiful, clear picture of none other than Ingrid Hawkins kissing not her fiancé at a concert. Is that Elliot Jackson her lips?
And what's this I see?? While Ingrid was making out with an older man, her 'fiancé' was snapped leaving Emily Powell's apartment in the wee hours of the morning? Rumour has it that she answered her door to him in some sexy racy red lingerie after he scared off another potential suitor coming to her door.
When are these two gunna stop playing pretend and thinking anyone believes they're actually a couple? It's getting kind of sad now.
Emily, girl, I thought you were a badder bitch than being a side hoe. Is this revenge on Nathan for snubbing you in front of the entire town? Rebounding all over your bestie's fake fiancé's face?"
So if Autumn Manchester is pregnant with whoever, is Eric gonna leave her like his ex-wife? It's no secret that he had threatened Veronica that he would leave her when she was pregnant with Vivienne.
"Ooooh that's spicy. Eric out here collecting babies but not their Mamas? Interesting. That's so gross of him. Autumn honey, what are you doing."

"Bloo blaah blaah Italian blah blah. Calm down." Aspen couldn't help her laughter as she poured a decent amount of the champagne she'd brought home into each of their glasses of orange juice. "Hey just telling it like it is, Ronnie. I mean, you totally deserve to know that he's bringing strange girls around your daughter. Even famous ones. We know what Autumn is famous for." Dating beautiful people and partying, pretty much.
"Ew don't bleach it, you have the nicest hair, girl what the hell. His tastebuds just died when you left him and now he's dates lameos." As if Aspen hadn't grown up looking up to the legacy of Autumn Manchester, like she hadn't done her best to emulate it during her time at Carroll High. "Here..." Sliding over the drink across the counter, she grinned at her. "Have your drink and then we can go shopping."
Veronica laughed, playfully nudging her friend as if to make fun of Aspen, hating it when she couldn't understand the other, and she knew so well that Aspen didn't have time or patience for her exasperated Italian bits. Her smile faltered as he hung her jacket over a chair and sat down with a sigh. "As long as he knows I don't want full custody, he's got a green light," she said, defeated. "I know he won't let anyone hurt Vivienne, but why does he have to be so frustrating, moving on so quickly and dating Autumn fucking Manchester like she's a girl next door?" A huff. "And I'm curious who he turned his house into a hotel for..."
Her hair was far more interesting a topic, and Aspen's compliment was exactly what Ver needed to hear. "I know, such a typical, cheap downgrade... Let's make sure blondes don't have more fun. Shopping for something cunty sounds like a good start."
"Now, tell me a bit about your big Euro-trip, I wanna know all the details I won't find anywhere else."
If only she could focus... First, someone's dog ran over to fetch a frisbee (at least the guy was cute and apologized, so...), then her phone rang, and now she saw a notification that had a forbidden name in it. Damn, she didn't want to think about her ex-husband's affairs right now, even if she cared so little about him.
Okay, maybe she cared a little bit, but only as much as it helped her stay relevant, and she definitely wanted to know who got close to their daughter. She would never call her that, but Vivienne was a good excuse to be a little nosy.
"Fuck!" A little distraction and Veronica lost her balance, quickly learning how important it was to be right there and then, anchored in her place, during her morning yoga sessions. Pretending nothing happened, Veronica reached for her water to take a sip before she started again, without the unwanted thoughts flooding her mind.
*
"Hey, aren't you the kind stranger from yesterday?" She smiled a bright, friendly smile, looking up as her silent fight with the bag continued. What was the point of yoga if packing reversed the results? "Sorry, I didn't recognize you, it's the shades... Or more like... no shades." She chuckled.
