Sometimes the descriptions in a brief are so intricate that it’s easy to get carried away. But also sometimes, the format in which it’s gonna be printed is to small to make them even visible.

Finally, The Churches of Alveran is out, and I can start showing you one of my favorite items I’ve got to illustrate for you.

Continuing what started as some random doodles, after reading another novel series by one of my favorite authors set in one of the most shameful underrepresented ttrpgs, I had to pin down at least some of all the things that were in my mind while reading.

Started designing some costumes of my favorite faction, trying to capture all those things that make them so cool.

Book of Spirits, the ethereal D&D 4E supplement is out in the wild. ✨ And I can finally show you some of my contributions.

Starting with my favorite.

Looking back on another year, being able to see artistic growth and being part of shaping the worlds that many enjoy for decades.

First cover painted for Das Schwarze Auge/The Dark Eye ttrpg. Thanks to my lovely AD, for trusting me with this.

It’s an alternative cover for the solo-adventure “Der letzte Sieg der Schwänin/The swan’s last victory”, which was originally part of the Finsterwacht-crowdfunding from a year ago, which can now be purchased individually.

Characters designed and illustrated for the adventure “Der Schild der Orkenwehr / Shield of the Orc Guard” for The Dark Eye ttrpg.

These are pre-made characters, already coming with their unique backstory, so players can jump right it.

Trying to connect things from their original description, modern fantasy, real world ancient culture, lore background, and also trying to give everything a new spin that could make them unique to this game.

Some of the character illustrations I did for the adventure “The Curse of Ash’Grabal” for The Dark Eye ttrpg.

These serve as game-ready characters to choose from, each coming with a unique backstory, so players can jump right into the game.

Some of the illustrations I contributed to “The Wolffrost” Crowdfunding. A collection of regional guides, rule- and source books of the icy north of Aventurien.

The realm of long nights and the wandering tribe of the Nivesen, as well as vampires, wolfmen and the fabled demonic night-elves.

I see these as a special chance to define the look and feel of the cultures and factions of Aventurien. So I’ve started putting some extra time into the design part of everything. I took a deep dive into the lore and it real-life inspirations, and tried to deliver a coherent and discernible design language for each faction.
