Linos May Cry 3: Jin's Awakening

it's a heart. the base composition is a heart.

it was more obvious with the sketch but i don't have a picture of it and i don't want to go into csp to turn a billion layers on and off. the biggest pain was trying to place the cords on her third eye in a way that'd satisfy the heart shape, and me.

i used csp's 3d models for the first time with this. helped a lot with posing. but too fiddly. i can only see myself using them when i really really really need to. otherwise i ball.

the very centre of the composition is her closed third eye. but colour is too dull for any attention to be drawn towards it first. i'll figure it out next time. wasn't ever good a colours. don't think i'll ever figure them out, but we'll see.

the background was originally just going to be philosophy of a hated person (her survival spellcard (also my old url.)) but my brain decided to change something down the line and made something more evocative of it rather than a 1:1. haven't a clue why i did this, i'll be real. i think i just didn't want to draw a million parallax bullets. (and yet i thought a million roses was ok?)

i'm not entirely satisfied. but for it being my first koishi i've drawn in about. a decade... actually i have the last full art koishi i drew.

For those that are curious, I don't really post much due to many personal reasons that keep my mouth sewn shut on the wider web. I'm breaking that little binding vow because this is a bit dire and I'm not in a position to stay silent on this kind of thing.

My partner's been dealing with some fun roommates who treat her like a free maid that pays to continue staying with them while being verbally abused and guilt tripped as though it were the other way around. The situation was awful, but stable and we were going to ride that out until we both the funds and freedom to move.

Yeah that's not an option now. Things came to ahead a few days ago and now that stability is shattered. Said roommates have already threatened to kick her out and I'm not going to gamble on the current ceasefire of that domestic warzone to remain before our initial appointed date. Either she moves in with me come next month or she's liable to be on the streets. I would rather avoid that happening, thank you.
