*Aqua was curled up in the vent, which wasn't too surprising, he only ever really came out to raid the med bay or the kitchen when no one was around to catch him.. But something seemed off about him, his breathing was shallow and laboured.*

*He didn't answer, instead rolling over and dry heaving, though nothing came up. His leg was in even worse shape than it had been the last time they'd seen him, it seemed to be infected.*

*They whined weakly, trying to sit up but instead collapsing back into the bottom of the vent, crying out in pain when his leg moved the slightest bit.*

*He seemed too out of it to register a word they said, staring absently at the wall and clicking quietly.*

*When he didn’t respond, they went to the medbay, returning with some bandages, ointment and some wipes.*

*They barely seemed to register their absence, or their return, continuing to click and whistle sadly at the wall.*

*They reached out, putting a hand on his shoulder.*

*He flinched at the sudden contact, then yelped when pain exploded up his leg at the sudden movement. It was easier to see his leg like this. It was pretty bad.*

*The contact made him sob even harder, writhing from the pain and occasionally rolling over to dry heave, using every bit of strength he could muster to not pass out from the agony.*

*Eventually the pain became too much for him to handle, and he went limp. Fortunately he was still breathing, albeit poorly.*

*Seeing him pass out put two thoughts into their mind; it was good because he wouldn’t be in pain while they finished, but it also wasn’t good that he was in so much pain. As soon as they finished wrapping up his leg, Ashes exited the vent for long enough to grab meds, returning as soon as they could.*

*Fortunately(?) he stayed unconscious, although whether that's actually a good thing is unclear, considering the fever he's running.*

*They waited for him to wake up, not willing to risk anything.*

*It took several hours for Aqua to wake up, and somehow he was even more delirious when be finally roused.*
