The Daunting Hour...
Ignoring this woman who claimed to be her parental figure the widow tended to her wound, switching cloths in order to be clean, tidy, because she was actually listening to the part of the woman who told her to clean herself up. She had begun to grow skeptical of her words, knowing that she was hinting toward something that she herself, she didn’t like the sounds of. But as a child that was abandoned she felt she owed this elder widow no reply, no words, no moment of appreciation nor acknowledgement. “You…touch no one. If you are going to come here then it is for me and me only.” she quipped with the spice of her tongue. She had no idea how powerful her mother truly was but that didn’t stop her from being disrespectful, not that the woman deserved it either. “I truly thought you didn’t care, and you don’t. So yes I knew, I knew you’d be my rivalry, I just never anticipated I’d see your face.” she spat. “Thus far I’ve stayed out of your way. I haven’t looked for you. I haven’t stalked you, like you seemingly have to me. But I’ve done nothingto you so whatever business you think we have, we don’t.”
Tendrils rummaged through her belongings, invading her personal space and collecting what necessities were needed to repair a wounded ear. “What are yo—” she began whilst watching the work of silken tendrils similar to her own. The young widow hissed and then hummed in a pained groan. The proper aiding gels and disinfectants stinging and burning at the open wound. Her eyes slammed shut during the process as she wondered why her mother was pulling off this act. And then the small gaping hole was being closed, stitched up with silk web that would stop the bleeding as well. There was a small cry of agony. “H—ha—h.” she laughed shortly and lifted one pallid lid of her swollen eyes, glancing at the female as she had lapped away at the blood on her hairs. “So— soon to think to kill… your only flesh and blood, no? Why are you helping me right now?”
"You've quite the willingness to lecture and scold for a girl who devoured her other siblings," she hummed, hollowed eyes staring darkly into the gaze so condescendingly provided, "are you sure you have the right to scold me?" A chuckle left her lips in the form of a purr, keenly hitched as a heated breath pushed past crimson plush; head kept tilted as those aforesaid eyes withstood their own hellish flames, scorching onyx burrowing viciously into the younger window's naive night. "I don't kill when my prey is weaker, because that would mean I sustain myself through liability and convenience, and unfortunately, I don't have the dignity it takes to be so weak as to desperately claw and grind for each moment to simply eat, no matter how opportunistic. And even with this logic, I still remain at my peak, untouched as a huntress and unparalleled as a murderer. Now is that not impressionable?" Laughter bubbled past her lips again, simmering in a soft melody that reverberated and ensued that laughter. A quiet, dismissive and transitional hum as she pressed on.
"And is that also not explanatory? I am treating you in cadence to this technique, so in a way, that could also account for the loyalty I'm imagining you believe I lack. You no need no distinct reason for my presence here, merely think of it as me abiding by my whims. I wanted to see my child, even after all this time, thus now I take the time to do it. Savor this as your first dose of acknowledgment from someone you have actually craved it from," she quipped gracefully, "after all, you have craved for this, haven't you? The lack of closure has been eating you alive, has it not? Your attitude only suggests so much, and what it does suggest only continues to shame you."
