Disgruntled and exhausted from a night of sleeplessness, Jason had pulled himself into the shabby booth with the large hood of his grey sweatshirt raised over his head, his eyes, visible only beneath shadows cast by the garment, brandishing dark circles. A cup of black coffee sat before him and he held the handle with two fingers, staring near-lifelessly into the vicinity and observing.
And all had been dull, mundane until the most recent occupant of the diner had taken a seat. Jason watched him carefully, pale lips pulling into a smirk of sorts as his gaze traced each feature, each mannerism of the young man two tables from him… Timothy Drake. Tim Fucking Drake… What a coincidence.
Assuming his eyes weren’t playing tricks on him.
He was tired as Hell.
"Need a top-off, sweetie?" The voice of the waitress might have started him if he were more focused, but Jason turned to look at her, nodding quietly and pushing the coffee mug towards the end of the table.
"You know that guy over there?" He asked, glancing towards Tim, taking his cup again as she refilled it’s contents with the coffee pot in her hand.
"He’s a regular. Why? Do you?" She smiled.
"…think so." The young man muttered, looking down at his coffee, "Mind if I hop over to that table?"
A quiet laugh was emitted, and she shook her head, “I’ll let him know—”
"No need." Jason began to stand, bringing his coffee with him, "I… want to surprise him."
The waitress nodded, before going off to tend to the other sparse tables and leaving Jason to pull both his glass and his backpack along to the booth at which Drake was seated, back turned to him. The smirk was in full play now, and silently, he slipped into the seat across from his younger brother, setting down the coffee and crossing his arms…
"Wow." was all that he uttered, raising a brow.

"I'm fine, Thea." He muttered, pulling out one of the kitchen chairs as though he were going to sit down, though he promptly pushed it back into place and moved instead into the kitchen, forcing a smile, "You're right... a-about the tea."
"What are you trying to say?"
She gave a frustrated huff as she threaded her fingers through her hair.
"Move in already!" She exclaimed, pointing at the duffle sitting on the floor and then a few other things of his scattered in the apartment,"You practically live here already. There’s already some of your stuff here. Just move in."
She lowered her arms and let her shoulders sag. This had to be atleast the one hundredth time they’d talked/argued/screamed about this.
"It’d be so much easier if you did," she sighed, still frustrated,"No one would be able to find you here either. Never think to look this far uptown."
"I didnt mean now," she laughed,"I meant later, now we celebrate."
She wasn’t exactly sure how they should celebrate but, this was something they should. It was a big event.
"What do you want to do to celebrate?" She asked him, a happy smile on her face and an excited gleam in her eyes.
Phew.
Jason grinned up at her, "Get drunk?"
Wasn't that his answer for most things?

She lowered her arms and let her shoulders sag. This had to be atleast the one hundredth time they’d talked/argued/screamed about this.

"You said crashing on my couch was temporary," she arched a brow at him, a smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth,"You want help moving the rest of your belongings?"
She wouldn’t say victory aloud, but it was definately reflected in her eyes and smirk. It would be nice. To finally be able to say that ‘yes she does have a roommate’s rather than ‘no I don’t particularly want one’ when friends asked because they knew someone who needed a place.
"Uh..."
He hesitated, glancing around the room again, and scratching the side of his head, "Sure? Later, though. No rush." This... well... was the rest of his belongings... But he didn't want to get into that just yet.

"What?" He blinked at her now, frowning, a look of flustered shock on his face, "A test..? You mean like a pregnancy test?" What kind of girl are you, Tim? Jason walked nervously into the room, though began to pace as opposed to moving in her direction…
"Yeah those." She said as she moved from the back of the couch to the kitchen, she needed something to keep her busy.
She had filled the kettle with water and started heating it by the time she’d noticed his pacing. She pulled down two cups and then grabbed two packages of tea.
"Jay……," she called, watching him with wide sapphire eyes,"A-are you okay?"
"...yeah, I'm... I'm fine." He murmured, pausing his steps with his back turned, his hand still seemingly glued to his forehead. He willed it to lower, and turned about, facing her with a pale a weak smile, "I'm okay. Yeah..."

He groaned, looking down again... across the room to the bag behind the couch, his helmet on the coffee table, brown leather jacket over a kitchen chair... She had a point and he hated that.
She always had a point, though.

He sighed, flopping to the side after an exasperated step and landing upon the couch, "...fine, whatever, okay..." his voice was quick and low, "...temporarily."
