Jazz could cut the tension with a knife and his spark ached with missed chances and lost time, clouding over the guilt for simply being on Velocitron without Mirage. He more than welcomed the drink offered, fingers grasping the glass and pulling it to the spot in front of him; he watched the young bartender.
“If I wanted to be at Piston’s, I’d be there,” he admitted, voice smooth but cautious. “I always thought this was the best place for drinks, company ain’t bad either. They got this sweet little racer behind the bar most nights, most curious little brat I’ve ever met.”
He offered a crooked grin, then brought the glass to his lips and downing about half of it. “Full of questions, always questions. Think he’d run out but always finds more to ask. I can admire that in a mecha.”
Finishline visibly relaxed and ducked his helm to hide a smile that spread across his faceplates. The spy always did have the most ridiculous effect on him, this reaction among the many. He turned with a hum, busying himself with cleaning a glass.
“It must get frustrating to have to deal with constant questions,” he mused, deciding against correcting Jazz that he wasn’t a racer anymore. “Though, the establishment has found that Cybertronians tend to like that employee’s curiosity. Most find it endearing so you’re not alone.”
