esther attended community college at the time hoping for either a career in music or in psychology, her dream being the two brought together for music therapy

she's neighbors with pa grape and his family. she babysat rosie and tom for a few years and pa grape was the one to convince her to audition (she's esther, you're esther, you're a shoe-in!)

the audition song was "this battle is not ours" and she really wasn't expecting to land the role afterwards

she has fond memories acting alongside everyone else, it helped that she interacted a lot with pa grape in the video

esther was a little surprised that the very softspoken scribe to the king was such an active and goofy guy off camera. despite that, she did enjoy their more grounded conversations

speaking of larry, he and his character were in esther's corner throughout production. a few of his reactions toward her were unscripted and genuine, and his "hi queen" was ad-libbed

on esther's side, some of her nervousness was genuine as well, given it was her first time acting in a serious production. still, she's grateful for the experience and was happy to be a part of the cast if only for this one video
