Let Go.

it’s been a while since i’ve posted, mostly because i’ve been incredibly busy working full-time. however, i still try to fulfill my role as a homemaker, and i’ve found several tips that help me maintain a clean, beautiful and well-managed home :)

tip one: make your home beautiful! you can buy fresh flowers, gather herbs and dry them (which will also make your home smell nice!), buy pretty dishes or decorations from the thrift store or find other ways to beautify your home in little ways. these don’t have to be expensive, they just need to make your home feel inviting and welcoming!

tip two: create a cleaning schedule. instead of giving up on chores until you have to spend hours cleaning, have certain days for doing certain chores. for example, i do laundry on mondays and clean the kitchen on tuesdays. keeping a schedule encourages consistency and keeps the chores from piling up and becoming overwhelming!

tip 3: write out a meal plan! knowing what you plan to cook each day eliminates the stress of figuring out a meal the day you plan to make it. it also makes it easier to go grocery shopping (because you know what ingredients you’ll need) and enables you to prepare what you need in advance.

tip 4: if you have a partner, devote one night a week to a date night! you could dress nicely and go out to eat, or stay at home and have intentional quality time. this has made a huge difference in my own relationship.
