I think leftist activism got easier after going vegan bc the whole praxis is different. One animal doesn't die and that matters. One person eats less meat and that matters. You do what you can and honestly, we're a whole lot more vegan now, years after I started, than we are leftist.

It makes me so furious whenever you see people cite PETA as "those animal rights people" even as a joke. I think we should all make a serious collective effort to correct that misconception in culture whenever it comes up. They are literally mass murderers of animals.

they are also the specific target of a right wing lobby group, whose other enemies include the cdc, moms against drunk driving, and anti tobacco legislation. meaning when you come across some anti peta information, it might be worth it to look into the possibility that you you are falling for right wing propaganda

Once more, some of y'all have no idea what veganism means. It is an ethical objection to using animals for our own selfish purposes. It has nothing to do with how nice you are to the animals.

by the way the fact that "youre treating me like a child/animal" arre synonymous to "youre treating me badly" really shows how we as a societyy treat animals and minors.

i’m literally so angry right now. you cannot be an animal lover and support the meat, dairy, and egg industries. we KNOW what goes on. we KNOW that the animals are constantly abused. we have all the evidence. you can’t just turn a blind eye, you can’t advocate for kindness peace and positivity and use animal products.

I have a conspiracy theory that most anti-vegan sentiment and the popularity of PETA is completely artificial and manufactured by people whose billion dollar industries rely on animal exploitation in the same way oil lobbyists try to discredit climate change activists by funding groups that associate the entire movement with a bad taste in the mouth also fuck terfs
