In a way, many of those who come to Santorini come as a couple; it is rather a more romantic tourism. While a multitude of young people come to Mykonos, groups of friends who practice sun, beach and party tourism, a bit like it happens in Ibiza or St Tropez.

The beaches of Mykonos, natural wonders, are one of the greatest attractions of the Aegean island. Hundreds of tourists enjoy the baths, the sun and, above all, the nightlife throughout the year. Also striking is the Monastery of the Panagia Turliani, in the Ano Mera area, with its red dome, the marble tower and the beautiful icons that it houses inside (you have to pay entrance). And in Paleocastro are the remains of an old fortification.

The windmills of Mykonos are part of the landscape and are already a symbol of the island. They are in the upper area of ​​the Mykonos town district (Chora), in a large viewpoint overlooking the sea and the beautiful old area of ​​white houses, Little Venice. But there are also windmills in Alevkantrra (Little Venice of Mykonos) and in the town of Ano Mera, which is 8 kilometers from Mykonos.

Today, the neighborhood has spread to the Kastro area. And on the ground floor of many of these houses you will find some of the most visited cocktail bars on the island, as well as art galleries where artists based on the island exhibit. Not far from Little Venice is the central square of the capital, Mykonos Cathedral and a very old Catholic church. 

In the small port, which is in the old town, of Mykonos are the fishing boats of the inhabitants of Mykonos town, Chora mixed with the luxury yachts. Small boats leave from there that can take you to different parts of the island and to the island of Delos. The port is also home to some of the best restaurants on the island, overlooking the sea, where you can taste the typical dishes of Greek cuisine and delicious wines.

The old town of Mykonos draws attention for its whitewashed houses. We recommend that you get lost in its narrow streets to discover different corners and some of the most beautiful places in the city, such as the port.
