can you please do a tutorial on how to add thumbs to cc that doesnot have? i am sick to see the accessoryies without thumbs
Method 1: This method is easiest for already made CC, as it just adds the thumbnail without replacing the CC (so sims wearing it already will continue to wear it)
1. Make your thumbnail in PS/GIMP, it must be 256x256 pixels and saved as a png
2. Open the CC .package in s3pe
3. Double click the CASP file and copy the Instance number then close
4. Resource > Import > from File and choose your PNG
5. Into Instance copy the CASP instance, into Group exchange the last 0 for a 1 for the first accessory recolor, a 2 for the second etc. If you are adding a thumbnail to a general item without recolors (like a hair) then leave the 0 (if the 0 is not showing in game then try a 1 and vice versa). Change Type to the THUM with “CE” at the end:
6. Press “Ok” and save the package!
Method 2: This method is best if you are making new CC, but REMEMBER that thumbnails will disappear if you reload your CC into TSRW, so do this right before you export for the final time!
For items with multiple recolors you will find the thumbnail in the textures tab under Part Highlighting (Accessories, Clothing etc)
For makeup you will find it under Textures under Tint A:

Here's my collection of UI-ish templates that I've been working on and have used in some of my recent posts. This file includes 15 or so templates that you can copy and paste into your screenshots. Before I had this "workspace" I used to have multiple tabs and windows open, and I often forgot which templates I had. I tried my best to organize, label, and colour-code each template for easy customization. For sample images, tips on how to use PSDs, "hidden" features, and other download links, keep reading.
UPDATE: Version 1.2 includes missing moodlets: scared, focused, fine, and asleep. Tag template now includes a white background that looks like the queued action text when you hover over queued actions.

beginner-friendly tips for using these PSD templates and some fun, little features:
open the windslar PSD collection in a new Photoshop window, drag and drop the folder/group of the template you want to use onto the image you’re editing OR select the folder/group of the template you want to use and ctrl+c / cmd+c then ctrl+v / cmd+v to the image you're editing
download the helvetihand font linked in this post so you don't get that constant pop-up that the font will be replaced
resize by selecting the folder containing the template. if you resize individual layers, things may start to look wonky
play around with blending layers and opacities for your template backgrounds. if readability is important, stick with normal, 100% opacity and a contrasting font colour. feel free to change the blending modes and fonts if you feel comfortable doing so
drop shadows and other effects may look slightly different if copying the template to another image because Photoshop, by default, has 'use global light' checked off; just double click the layer style to customize shadows or the click the eye icon by the effect layer to make it invisible
moodlets come in four different styles: classic, soft, dark, and bright and include all emotions plus a neutral one
the announcement template includes the following events (and their corresponding icons): birth, marriage, divorce, death, and news/neighbourhood story
imessage templates have the tails of the speech bubble on a separate layer so they don't get squished when you resize them
want to put an album cover or a profile pic? use a clipping mask. select the appropriate layer (ALBUM or USERPIC) on the template you want to use, drag the image you want to use and position it on top of the layer. right click the image and select 'create clipping mask'. now just resize the image to fit in the confines of that shape.
the tweet / social bunny template has bonus social bunny reaction icons in an invisible folder
the weather template has a folder including icons for multiple weather events. similarly, the location template has an icon for all the worlds (base game worlds all the way to Tomarang). there's also a location pin icon if you choose not to use the game's worlds icons.
edit this to your heart's content. change the fonts, the colours, the shapes and hit 'save as' so you can always have your personalized template workspace to use during your editing process. but if someone asks you where you got your templates, i'd appreciate if you linked back to my original post

I updated the Windslar PSD Collection to version 1.2 to include some missing moodlets and a new tag background. I've also received a few questions about how to use them.
Sorry it's taken me a while to answer these questions, but I just wanted to devote some time to (hopefully) answer all questions with this step-by-step tutorial (google doc). Beyond this tutorial, I don't know how much more I can help people use these templates. So if you're still stuck, there are plenty of Photoshop tutorials online; this is how I learned and continue to learn. I've also included a link in the google doc on how to use psds on programs other than Photoshop.
I've tried my best to label and organize each folder and layer for these templates so they can be as intuitive and beginner-friendly as possible. The way I made one PSD file containing multiple templates was intentional -- to create a one-stop "workspace" for you to pull templates from. So to the one anon who asked me to upload each template separately, I'm sorry but I will not be doing that. If you know how to separate them and use them in that manner because that is your preference, you're free to do so for personal use.
I was asked to tell more about the holidays in my legacy gameplay, so here is a super long and detailed post on the subject! 😊
How I use holidays in my game
I used to hate the holidays, cos I saw them as something my sims had to participate in and there was always so much pressure to complete all the traditions! But then I cracked it...
Holidays are a great way to add objectives to gameplay! When every day is some kind of a holiday with its own theme, there's always something for my sims to do.
I tick the "day off" box only if the holiday is a major one or the traditions would feel too rushed if my sim worked on the same day.
I try to have a lot of outdoor/traveling holidays in the spring and summer, and more home lot based holidays in the autumn and winter.
For some holidays, I add a diverse set of traditions and then choose only one or two to complete every sim year.
Sometimes my sims are just too busy with other things in life to participate at all. The No more "awful holiday" sad moodlet mod (linked below) is super useful because it completely takes the pressure off of completing holiday traditions!
It's very refreshing to use custom icons for the holidays, it matters more than you'd think! I use the More selectable icons mod (linked below) for this feature.

If you want to create your own holidays, but struggle with coming up with ideas, here are some things I always consider when I create holidays.
Can you match a world with a season? Summer holidays in Sulani, winter holidays in Mt. Komorebi, etc.
Alternatively, have a summer holiday in Sulani when it's winter elsewhere, a winter holiday in Mt. Komorebi when it's summer elsewhere, etc.
What if you took the default holidays and placed them in a different season? Celebrate Winterfest on the beach in the summer!
Can you match a world with a theme? Nature holidays in Granite Falls, city holidays in San Myshuno, etc.
Think of a simple theme for your holiday (games, sports, food, animals, books, etc.) and choose traditions based on that.
Create a holiday that requires your sim to travel from world to world to complete all the traditions.
Have a 3 day holiday for a vacation trip, with different traditions to complete each day.
Create holidays for specific life stages. What would a teen or an elder sim do for their holiday?
Create a holiday for each occult type. How would a Spellcaster spend their holiday?
Can you think of a way to combine holidays and clubs?
Put two really different holidays right next to each other so you have lots of variety in gameplay.
If you're playing a legacy, create a holiday for each heir sim based on their personality, and have their offspring celebrate these holidays to honor them.
Research real life holidays that are celebrated around the world to find new ideas.

I used S4Studio to rename all the worlds, and I've decorated all the neighbourhoods with T.O.O.L. As I said before, Silent Pines is completely base-game friendly, absolutely no packs or kits are used.
There is some custom CC, mainly posters that add to the story. The CC is one package file and adds nothing other than some customisation to the story. It is not required.
For example the missing poster of Cleo Emerson, a girl who disappeared under mysterious circumstances;

MULTIPLE CREATORS ON MTS/MOD THE SIMS HAVE BEEN COMPROMISED
A few hours ago, Kuttoe sent an announcement in Sims After Dark that NateTheL0ser's MTS account was compromised with several uploads containing a new script file called "silkrose_debug" that attempts to download files from a third-party website. It was confirmed that more creators have had their accounts compromised in the second announcement.
It would be highly recommended to avoid the site completely until everything is back to normal. And if you really want to download something, do so at your own risk. Make sure to scan your PC and download ModGuard. If either of them have detected something, delete it and immediately change all of your passwords. And in a worst case scenario, wipe your OS and change your passwords from a different, uninfected device.
Decor and clothing should not have script files included!

I think I mentioned ages ago that I was working on my own save file, and it was going fine, but I felt very disorganized and had no clear vision. When @misslollypopsims dropped a video on making a new save file and shared how she was organizing it, I was amazed. I tried out the spreadsheet by Rosannatxt (I do love a spreadsheet) but at some point it was a little too much for my color loving brain.

► Programs & Resources:
Sims4Studio is the program we use to get our resources from the game and to make our package files. Photoshop is the image editing program we use to edit our image textures and previews, with some recurring to GIMP as well. You will need a DDS Plug-in so Photoshop can work on the DDS files that Sims4Studio utilizes, you can work with png files, but it's harder work. Blender is the free and mot common 3D mesh editor sims 4 creators use to work on their meshes. You can import add-ons to it, like Behemox Hair Generator, Mesh Repair Tools (both self explanatory) and Mio3, an UV editor tool. NJob is a great free tool you can utilize to make normal maps, essential to make your CC interact with different lighting in game.

I believe every knowledge should be free and easy to access, because I also believe things like paywalls and having to jump through hoops to find said knowledge is part of the reason why ignorant people are resorting to AI to make their desired "art". Useful TS3 shortcuts you might not know about - quickly copy and recolor! (GIF)
• Hold Shift while dragging a palette to recolor the entire floor or wall
• Ever get frustrated copying objects with an eyedropper? Hold Shift and place the selected object to copy it without loading it! Works in both Build or Buy modes, can copy Debug objects with no codes ;)
• Hold Shift and drag fence or wall tool to create a room; hold Ctrl to remove the wall or fence
These shortcuts have saved me lots of time! I rarely use both sledgehammer and eyedropper :)
