Welcome to Village Bridge for its Third Annual Holiday Festival of Lights!ย
Itโs that time of year again, when the normally quaint little town atop Unovaโs famous stone-arch bridge comes alive with holiday cheer!ย
Shimmery garlands and holiday lights brighten the cool stone structure, andย festive wreaths and ribbons hang upon every door. An enormous pine tree, taller than last yearโs, towers over the town square, its thick branches embellished with large twinkling lights, yards of tinsel, handmade wooden and pewter ornaments, and colorful glass orbs. A royal blue tree skirt with a cute snowflake pattern covers the base of the tree and, if you lean back far enough, you can catch a glimpse of the glittering gold star at the very top. Behind the tree, you spy what looks like a Ferris Wheel off in the distance.
Music carries over from the waterfront as you make your way around town. Artisan stalls and kiosks line the streets, showcasing all sorts of holiday-themed merchandise like handmade ornaments and commemorative postcards. The music gets louder as you near the top of the bridge and you realize thereโs a dance party going on underneath it. The festive beats lift the spirits and entice many festival attendees to move and dance. Maybe you can check it out later if you feel like busting out some moves!
You quickly side-step to avoid a beautiful winter-coated Sawsbuck as it pulls up to the sidewalk. This year, the village is offering Sawsbuck-drawn carriage rides across the town! You watch a gang of over-excited children and their pokรฉmon pile into one of the carriages and offer their tired parents a sympathetic smile before moving on.ย
A delicious aroma draws your attention toward the concession stands, which are set up in the vicinity of the Village Bridge Restaurant. Many festival attendees are already lined up in hopes of getting their hands on some tasty holiday-themed treats. Word on the street is that a girl named Akari offers free samples when she runs the stalls so maybe you should keep an eye out for her.ย
And then... just outside of town, you find the main event. The rolling fields and gentle hills of Route 12 are now home to over three miles of amazing Christmas lights displays. Many displays showcase traditional Christmas scenes, Santa Claus and his workshop, and even special regional displays! Not too far from the lights you find the Ferris Wheel you spotted earlier. Itโs not as grand as the one in Nimbasa but you bet that, from the very top, youโd still have an amazing view of the town in the distance and the lights below.
