I went into this semester with such good intentions around managing my time and getting stuff done early. But here I am, two assignments due next week, two presentations, a minuscule amount of work done. Ugh.
We’re practicing direct examination next week, which is when you call a witness and then question them. I’ve watched a lot of videos; some lawyers make it look so easy. I really want to go to the courthouse one day and watch in person.
I still miss my two friends who moved to different sections of the program (same classes and assignments, just different schedules). But we’ve kept in touch pretty well. I’ve had lunch with one of them a couple of times, and we text regularly. What’s great about them being in the other sections is I get to hear drama from all across the program.
One friend told me a guy came to class in a full suit, so she asked what the occasion was. He said he got an email telling him to dress up. In the middle of class, the program coordinator showed up and gave this guy an award for being a “top student.”
Friend is very chatty, so she was talking to the professor about it after class. Apparently everyone who’s won this “top student” award volunteers for the program coordinator’s organization. So he’s just passing out awards for people who work for him (for free). And doing it randomly in the middle of a class? So freaking weird.
Anyway, before I get into everything today, I’m going to get my hair cut. I keep forgetting, putting it off, but it makes me miserable when the sides and back are grown out. My favorite barber just happened to have an appointment available today. So I’m very happy about that
